Assad, Are you already a British citizen? And are you already married to your partner or are you planning on getting married over here in the UK?

Which EEA country's citizen are you? If it is of any of the old EEA ones, then it makes sense as your wife would have gotten the EEA Family Permit which is supposed to be only for 6 months.

On the up side.. it is supposed to be free. Did you have to pay for it?

The laws governing EU/EEA nationals underwent a considerable change from 30.4.2006. Your wife will have to apply for the Residence Card using the EEA2 and proof that you are exercising your treaty rights in the UK.

The Residence Card is usually valid for 5 years after which she will obtain her Permanent Residence. How long have you been here and any plans on getting naturalised in the meantime?

Assad, congratulations on your wife getting an EEA Family Permit.

Naturalisation? What Docterror is asking is if you intend to apply for British Citizenship? If you have been exercising EU Treaty Rights in the UK since 2000, for example by being employed, you got Permanent Residence status on 30.04.06, and having now had that status for more than one year, you are entitled to apply for Naturalisation as a British Citizen ..... assuming you pass the UK's Citizenship Test.

Congrats Asaad

When were you call for the interview?
Were you able to contact the embassy prior to your wife's Interview?

I am currently waiting to hear from the embassy and it has taken nearly two months

Any advice will be really appreciated

If you had been a student till last year since 2006, you already hold PR (Permanent Residence) status. Just get the letter from the education institute that you had been attending to confirm that you have been a student for 5 years along with proof of economic activity for the past 1 year to apply for naturalisation as Briish citizen.

For further information please look up the posts by the poster 'Marco 72' as to how to successfully apply. Also look into whether Holland allows dual citizenship before you make any decision.
