I now have two more questions. ..

1-if I request my passport back from my wifes application, will it affect her application?

2-we want to go travelling for 75 days in the 12months before she applies for ILR. We will both give up our jobs for this. Is this ok because its less than 90days or will the ukba see it as 'not normal absence' and therefore reject the ILR under non continuous stay at in uk?

Thanks

Please read the link (click) that Casa kindly supplied.

Absences should be limited and for good reason. I believe that absences <180 days do not need to be declared in section 9.11 of SET(M).

Is there a definition of 'limited' and 'good reason'?

No but for employment should be ok providing you keep it limited and keep proof of a subsisting relationship.

Thanks Guru

Its an incredibly vague area
So, its not taken as annual leave from employment, ie-quitting your job and going travelling for 2.5 months it wont be accepted as 'normal' leave and therefore could be rejected?

Thanks
