When does"continues stay of five years"start cout?

Post by caobaoyang » Wed Jun 13, 2007 8:15 am

When does "continues stay of five years" start count for an HSMP holder to apply for ILR?

1. Start from the visa (EC) stamp date? -- Then it is OK for me to enter the UK within 3 months without any effect on ILR application 5 years later. right?

2. Start from the day of first entering the UK? -- Then it means that I have to enter the UK within 28 days to avoid any date gap when apply for ILR 5 years later. right?

Can anyone help to confirm which one is correct?
