Divorce court case outside UK and ILR

Post by ldbright » Sat Nov 09, 2013 10:11 am

Please can someone kindly help as my best friend is under stress because of a divorce.

Her question is that will going to court outside the U.K. to get divorced (there will be a record with the local embassy in London. ) affect her tier 1 general main applicant application in the January? Will going through the court as accused be considered as criminal record? Nothing nothing criminal about the divorce as it is a pure civil case.

Please any advice will help. Thank you.

there is no "accused" in a divorce. it is the petitioner and the respondent. why would a divorce be a criminal record unless there was fraud invol ved.
many people divorce all the timeandit is civil as you havd stated and not criminal.

a divorce, regardlessof who is at fault, will have no effect on her t1main application, provided all requirements are met.
