regards,

The requirement to register yourself as self-employ or as director of a company within 6months of entering UK applies mostly to those that got their Tier 1 entrepreneur visa from abroad.

Usually, most of PSW or those applying from within UK would have register as self-employed or as director of business before submitting their application in UK.

The requirement is that once you enter UK from abroad, then make sure you start your business/trading activities within 6months in order to qualify for extension.
The key to success is knowledge and hardwork, and to have faith.

Home Office are not concern if company make profit or loss. All they are concern is for you to register within 6months of entering UK and then invest 50k or 200k within 3yrs before extension.

This means one has to register a company within 6 months, whether its trading or not it doesn't matter?

I am asking because i have registered a private limited company and have transferred funds in to the business account but i have not started trading yet there fore there will be no turnover to report.

@ MTZ510, the main condition of the Tier 1 entrepreneur visa is that your business must be trading so why will you not trade?

you have a valid question. Actually i have incorporated the company with my residential address as registered office. I am in process of setting up my business and it might take around 4 months, during this period i will have nothing to show in my company except expenses. I believe the actual sales/income will start after 6 months . will it be of any problem?

thanks

@ MTZ510, there are 2 major points to company activities, one is trading activities while the other is business activities, so as long as you are doing trading activities which mean that your business is seriously looking for contract and making all plans to be involve in business activities, then you should be fine.

Just make sure that you have all the record to show your trading activities like; adverts, contacts with your prospective clients even if you haven't been able to secure the job.
