Advice on filling form AN for naturalisation

Can anyone confirm how much to pay for naturalisation i.e. Form AN. Is it £874 alone; or do you have to add an extra £80 for the ceremony fee? Thank you.

It is £874 only, ( it includes the £80 for ceremony, except if you choose to do a private ceremony, which will add £100). When you fill in the slip just put £874

Can some help with this, in sec 3 under good character i came here in 2003 under employment under certain organisation which i will not mention, when i did received indefinite stay i did kind of change employment still working on voluntary basis for the organisation which i came here to work for but because of financial i have to take full time employment with another organisation. in question 3.1 it ask for what is my occupation as i am still working for the same organisation but on a voluntary basis , and full time with another in which i received a monthly salary. What should put in this section?.

Put down the name of organisation where you get monthly salary.

hi have got 3 points on my licence, someone told me i must declare and send paper part of licence , where on form do i declare this. It’s only got section for convictions and so on, nothing section asking if i have got points.

How did you get points on your license?

Was it a fixed penalty notice or did you get convicted in court?

Fixed penalty does not need to be mentioned on the form.

Where they ask if you have any convictions, you can tick NO and move on.

If you have points on your licence, just include a copy of the paper counterpart.

1. We (me and wife) did our LiUK prior to ILR and the HO has kept the originals with them at the time of ILR application. Do we have to attach a copy of it with AN application ? (Glad we have copies)

2. We did bachelors from India, do we have to get UK NARIC to approve our degrees ? Or do we have to pass an English language test ?

3. How much time does the naturalization process takes approximately ? Primary reason to ask this is that my wife joined me after couple of months in the beginning (at the time of EC), can I apply for my naturalization first then later apply for her's ? Or is there any rule that I cannot apply for her naturalization until mine gets sorted (if this takes quite a few months)?

i was granted ILR(10 years basis) back in april, although i submitted my application for iLR on the 25th of Sep 2012. Hence according to 15 months rule i can apply for British Citizenship on on 25th of Dec.

is Anybody dealt with similar sort of situation before on this forum ?

15 months "rule" is not clear.

I would say, no point in being impatient. April is not too far. Why risk nearly £ 900 pounds.

If you look at the form, you will notice that you just need to tick a box. No photocopies of LiUk are required.

This subject has been widely discussed many a times on the forum. You need to check if your qualifications are mentioned in PBS calculator. If they are, then you need to take a print out from PBS calculator and include your degrees. Browse the forum and you will find all the answers.

3. How much time does the naturalization process takes approximately ? Primary reason to ask this is that my wife joined me after couple of months in the beginning (at the time of EC), can I apply for my naturalization first then later apply for her's ? Or is there any rule that I cannot apply for her naturalization until mine gets sorted (if this takes quite a few months)?

Who came first or second is not a matter of importance. Both of you must meet all naturalisation requirements individually. If any one of you does not meet residence requirements, then you can look into one applicant applying first and the second applicant later. Again, check out the citizenship FAQ's on the forum. All the answers are already there.

I have a question relating to point 2 below.

My husband will be applying for naturalisation through the NCS service on the 2nd of January. He has both his first degree and Masters(MBA) from abroad which was taught in English. We applied to UK NARIC for an English Language Assessment using his MBA degree certificate + transcript however they came back to us today stating that his qualifications were higher than the standard and as such they will not be able to process the ELA. Unfortunately, his undergraduate transcript is missing and we do not have the time to get another.

I have checked the PBS calculator on UKBA website but it appears to be made specifically for Tier 1 and my husband came into the UK as the spouse of a BC. My question is , could you advice on how to use it? I may be missing something hence my asking.

Also, can anybody advice on what we should do? Will a statement of comparability from UK NARIC suffice for the English Language Requirement? Has anybody used it?

Any advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.

For ILR , they ask you to check if the qualification is mentioned in PBS calculator.

If it does, then the qualification will be accepted for ILR. If the calculator does not give 10 points then the qualification will not be accepted for ILR.

i entered the UK in 24/06/2006 and just this year on the 21/01/13 i went to india/nepal to travel/volunteer teaching for 4 months. The immigration requirement says
"During the residential qualifying period, you must not have been absent from the UK for more than 450 days. You must not have been absent for more than 90 days in the last 12 months."

does the residential requirement period mean during the first 5 years of me entering the uk or will my visit this year restrict me from applying for naturalisation this year. Thanks in advance.
