Anybody know what chapters are covered in the exam?

So it's better to do the exam based on the 1st edition.

The 1st edition covers fewer chapters, so it might be easier
However, the second edition exams will only be available soon so if you plan on taking the 1st edition you better hurry.

i was under the impression that 2nd edition was applicable for all exams since april 2nd !!

If you will take the exams on July 2 2007 onwards then you need to study the 2nd edition.

hi,

A friend of mine will be giving her Citizenship test next week. She is going for the 1st Edition.

I have read the its based on Chapters 2, 3 and 4 ONLY.

Can anyone confirm the following chapters:

2 - Britain Today

3- How Britain is Goverened

4 - The Formal institutions

Are the above the only chapters she is supposed to read for passing the 1st edition?

If one is applying for naturalisation in august, can he/she appear in the test based on chapters 2,3,4 or does he/she have to appear in the test based on chapters 2,3,4,5,6?

I find it strange that the 'Life in Britain' guide costs almost Â£10, while a similar guide for Canadian citizenship 'A Look at Canada' is offered free, and is posted on Immigration Canada website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/ ... /index.asp

I was just highlighting how one country offers the reference material free, while another charges people for the test. The key point being that it's a test that they insist applicants have to take, so it's not fair to be charging them for the reference materials in the first place.

I think the UK system is more fair than the canadian system. The person who want to gain something must pay for it. Otherwise where is the money for the government come from, Tax payer money, certainly ...

Also, I think they do not make make profit for this. Â£10 The price enterily to cover for production and distribution cost.

Look here if you don't want to pay for the book, go to the library and borrow it. I guess you prefer that they didn't produce a book at all and have you take a test without an idea on how to focus your attention. Then, you would be whining, how do they expect to you pass and at least they should publish a book for sale?
I think you need to look more at the principle of the matter. For me, I wouldn't have had to take it if they didn't change the HSMP from 4 to 5. That's a much bigger issue than paying a tener for a book.
