first British passport application delays

Post by annieslist1 » Thu Nov 14, 2013 10:44 am

Its been over 11 days and I have not received my documents back, nor received any communication except for a text message confirming the receipt of docs, which worries me (First Passport for family of 2 adults and 2 children) Monies taken from my card a week ago.
Most of the timelines I read who applied at my similar dates have had their passports!
Here's my timeline.
Passport for: Family 2 Adults + 2 Children
Application Type: New
Method of application: Check and Send service
Date of application: 29/10/13
Date application Acknowledged by IPS: 06/11/13
Date of return of documents:
Date of receipt of interview letter:
Date of Passport Appointment:
Date of Passport Receipt:

How can I contact HMPO?

Wow! Over 11 days. That's more than 10 days (but less than 12).

Maybe contact them by phone/email? You will need the barcode number from the PO C&S receipt.

Just phoned HMPO the CS told it will take from 3 - 6weeks and after taking my details and the barcode, said I can only call if not heard from after 6 weeks! for first passport.

Do you know how many people working there and how many applications they are receiving everyday ? They way you saying is like staff there waiting for your application even before you send it

Someone asked similar question about driving license.

So relax . it's not even 6 weeks yet . World will not gonna end next week

askmeplz82 - As a senior member of this forum, I request you to refrain from such comments as this space is not for that!

OP seems to be concerned as other members timeline seems the whole process takes no more than 10 -15 days and in their situation its taken more than that average time. There is nothing wrong in a member posting their concern.

I suggest askmeplz82 to refrain from posting such unwarranted comments or I will have to as the moderators to look into this.

OP - each application is dealt with separately and some takes longer to process, as you are naturalised as a British Citizen you will get your passports, its a right of a British citizen, just hang in there!

Hang on there ... just 10 days and OP is so worried. All i said was to wait 6 weeks . Similar case someone send application for driving license and waiting to get passport back in a week time.

i just checked the timeline ( 7/8 pages ) . 60% 20 - 30 days , 10% 15 - 20 days and 30% over 30 days

This kind of queries keep this Forum going. Take away all childish posts and you will be left with just 5 percent of the content.

Thank you for your comments user - samkma.

Looks like this place has a lot of trolls who have no other job!

Seems bit scary - I WILL NOT BE POSTING OR VISITING this forum anymore!

I have coming to this forum for last 7 years to look for help and was much better then, now trolls live and rule here! Look at the number of posts where unwarranted replies are left for genuine queries.

Goodbye!

and such behavior should not be accepted

so i guess carry on posting on this forum and just ignore the unfriendly posts

regards your application I recommend you wait for another week then call them and ask for an appointment - not inquiry- IMPORTANT
