PIO post or attend personally

Hello,

Can anyone please advise how long it takes to get the PIO card if applied through post? I can see from other posts that it takes around 4 weeks if applied personally in HCI London.

Also, if attended personally will they verify the documents proof such as parents passport, Birth Certificate etc and return it back immediately? or will they send it back through post to us along with the OCI card?

What about your child british citizenship application, you applied 7th october, did you get a acknowledgement letter? my own they just took money today from my account, I applied 18th october 2013. thanks

pragneshmpatel,

Yes, I applied for POI. It took all together 35 days to reach by Post. Its like the HCI London will ask you to come and collect the POI card on the following month of the date that you applied. If you ask to post it then it might take 2-3 days more.

I have attended in person at HCI London. They returned all the documents immediately after verifying.

I have got her registration certificate and applied for passport last friday. Hope you will receive your child's soon.

Application Timeline
Eligibility criteria: section 1(3)
Method of application: Postal (Special Delivery)
Date of Application: 08/10/13
Date of receipt by UKBA: 09/10/2013
Date of debit of fees: 29/10/2013
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 04/11/2013
Date of receipt of approval: 13/11/2013
Date of receipt of registration certificate: 14/11/2013 dated 08/11/2013
