Tricky situation - Tier 1 application

Post by balak2 » Mon Nov 25, 2013 12:47 am

I had my initial Tier 1 extension in March 2013 and my visa is valid up to Mar 2015. However I need one more extension to qualify for PR.

I left my job in June 2013 due to personal reasons and was unemployed till November 2013. I heard a rumor round saying that Tier 1 General extensions might be closed after April 2014.

Can I go for a Tier 1 General extension next week showing my salary from Sep 2012 to June 2013 in the previous 12 month period out of 15 months? Will the case worker have any queries of me applying for an early extension and queries about my unemployment period? Can they deny me an extension or not entertain my case saying that it's too early to make an application?

Thanks for your reply sagareva. Could you please explain what are the strange things that you have mentioned?

Any suggestions from any of the senior members?

I am going in for an appointment on 06-DEC and wanted to know your advice on the calculation of previous earnings.

How do you calculate the previous earnings period of 15 months? I am planning to show from Sept 2012 to June 2013.

1. Is it from 06-Sept-2012 to 05-Dec-2013? If that is the case, how do we have to calculate the salary for September 2012? Can we deduce it from the payslip or need any extra documents to prove that?

2. Or can we simply specify the previous earnings period start date of Sep-2012?

look, about strange things == just read this forum, they adopted new rules and now ask for all sorts of things they were never supposed to ask for, and then it produces random outcomes

about your earnings though i see a problem -- your appoitment is 6th december, and the start of september 2012 falls outside of 15 months.
you may want to apply before the 29th of november (this week) to be on the safe side. that's IMHO

at least you need to be prepared to exclude the first 6 days, if you have weekly payroll or smth.

and it can't be from 6 sep 2012 to 5 dec 2013, that is more than 12 months

it can be 6 sep 2012 to 5 sep 2013

but you need to have to be able to show precisely how to distinguish the first 6 days of september you cannot just prorate imho

is there a reason you cannot simply apply this week??

hi balak,

from your application date count last 15 months .. out of those 15 months u need to be employed for 12 consecutive months ... either from month 1 to month 12 or from month 4 to month 15.

oh btw, i think that closure of extensions from april 2014 is not right info as mentioned on different forums ... u may like to check this with Home Office.

hope this helps

I am going for an extension in person on Friday. I got the bank statements stamped by HSBC but I couldn't get any contact number. Hence, could anybody advise what number I should provide on the application form. Thanks.
