FLR(M) or PBS dependent application for my wife

Post by ref786 » Mon Nov 25, 2013 12:58 pm

Hi All,

I am a bit confused on choosing the right form for my wife. My story is:
I got married on 10 Nov 2012 back home in India and my wife applied for Visa in India and got it in the month of July 2013. She came with me to the UK on 31 Aug 2013 and I got ILR through Tier 1 (general) recently 19 Nov 2013. Now Her visa is expiring soon and I gotta apply visa for her but sadly I do not know what form I should pick up for her either FLR (M) or PBS dependent.

Please help guys.

Many thanks,
Ref

Either though, with FLR(M) there is a Financial and English requirement, FLR(M) may also reset her 5 year settlement clock. Unless she is a medical doctor, PBS extension may be best.

Thanks for your reply D4109125, appreciated! So Can I assume PBS extension is the right form I should use?

Just double checking with you :)

Hi Amber,

Yesterday, I tried to book an appointment online (PBS dependant) for my wife but in the drop down list for "What category of leave has the main applicant applied for?" I could not see my category that is ILR.
I am still confused if it's the right form for my wife. Please help.

One more query - I have recently been granted ILR on 19 Nov and my wife's visa expires on 20 of Jan 2014. Cant I apply he visa earlier than 28 days from 20th Jan 2014 as she is defendant on me?

Just select that you're a T1 applicant I don't think it'll make much difference.

Please reply.

Many Thanks,

There is no rule of applying just before 28 days for extensions.

Post by ref786 » Sun Dec 15, 2013 10:58 pm

Hi There,

Recently, I have got points on my driving license for breaking signal unfortunately. My Concern is if it effects my application at the time applying for citizenship?

Your response will be appreciated.

Did you go through the court for the points?

Thanks for your reply.
No, I did not go through the court. They sent me the notice that I broke signal and would have three points on my DL and pay £60 penalty. In return, I paid the penalty and had three points.

Then so far as you do not get another in the 12 moths prior to application it should have no bearing.

Issues with wife's name on passport

Post by ref786 » Tue Dec 17, 2013 9:32 am

Hi Folks,

I have a query. I am soon going to apply for my wife's visa who is dependent on me and I hold ILR. I have chosen window appointment for that. The problem is my wife's passport has got both first and last name in just first name field. So basically passport displays her first and last name in first field and last name is empty. I know it must have been corrected in India where she got her passport done but the agent said it's not an issue and made her to apply for visa by putting the first and last name both in first name field in the form.

So if I put her first and last name in first field in the form, will it be alright or is there any better solution?

Please advice.
