October 2013 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

Hi desertlord, so you are looking at simply whether EEA route and non-EEA route applicants get treated any differently when it comes to BC processing times? That I could chart, as it's more general and people list that in their eligibility criteria.

I am sure they are different!

Further I think some countries in Asia will be looked at " need more checking" same applies for middle east. I haven't seen anyone from these countries taken approval in normal time all of them about 2-3 month earliest.

This is very unfortunate. A person is in the uk at least 6 years, extended visa multiple times and sill during naturalisation application they fall under"need more checking" just because they are from certain countries in south east Asia.

Any way, what kind of more checks they do, does any one know??????[/u]

Let's just not go there. EEA and non-EEA is one thing as that's a formal difference in settlement route, but as regards 'some countries in Asia' I don't think this is something to be speculating about.

Finally! I gave up waiting for it and here it is. Received my approval today dated 02.12. Over the moon.

I've been advised in the letter not to contact Local Authority unless I don't receive invitation to the ceremony within 2 weeks. I thought I had to arrange dates with them - am I wrong? I believe all Councils have different rules.

Anyway, good luck to all! Normal post will take ages now as my letter was sent out 2 days ago in "next day delivery" envelope. Christmas coming - hope you get what you waiting for before that!

Congratulations lendosing, finally we started hearing approvals from middle of October applicants. While it was taking 30 to 40 days to get approval letters last month, now it is taking 50 to 60 days at least!
The reason you've been advised not to contact local authority without invitation letter is you applied yourself not by NCS. Otherwise you could be ringing your council straight away to get ceremony date when you received approval letter.

Regarding processing times - really feel for the guys who applied a week or so after me and whose fees not even been debited yet. It will all happen - sooner or later.

contacted HO and after 2 months my application is not even in progress!

the easiest way is to get married then you BC after 2-3 weeks without complication as a must

what you would suggest me shell i call my local NCS council and find out about my approval ? might be they receive it already ....?

I know two cases:

one applied end of sept - beginning of Oct - no news yet
and the other applied mid of october - approved last week of november.
few are lucky .. and a few are not....

Dear people who applied for British naturalization. Maybe you can give me some advice. I applied for naturalization on the 17th of October, and my fees were debited on the 15th of November already. I got a letter couple days ago from HO. They request from me P60's forms. I lost it and I provided to HO instead of my P60's Employment history and National insurance contribution forms what should be enough. At least I checked in this forum and some people did the same. Do you know I am in trouble or it should be fine? Thank you very much for your advice.

With due respect. I am a bit disagree with your opinion regarding this HO discrimination with regard to the applications of some Asian etc ' applicant's toward longer naturalization process. There are 100s of example you would find in this forum where these countries' applicants got their approval within normal period like others. Things that matters are your application, supporting documents confirming your residence requirement, your good character. For instance if someone (EEA or Non-EEA, Asian, African etc) have any civil/criminal offences, driving offence i.e. points or CCJ Judgement then definitely HO will undertake further investigation and hence delay the application process.`

And off-course the busy period due to new naturalization rules leads to more delays.
