Pass Cambridge PET with reading below Borderline

Post by ecpgffw » Thu Dec 05, 2013 1:09 pm

Hello,

In order to demonstrate English at the B1 level I took Cambridge Preliminary English Test(PET) exam recently. Although the results show that I passed the exam, my reading skill is peformed below Borderline.

In this case are the results sufficient to demonstrate my knowledge of language for the ILR purpose?

Many thanks in advance.

The requirement is for speaking and listening.

I think whatever test you took , if it says pass OVERALL then you are okay despite the HO requirement is for Speaking and Listening. But if OVER ALL score or Result is FAIL or under line then you need retaking the test.

Please also take seniors view. I am only saying it because I think I have seen and email from UKBA on this forum when some one asked them same type of question.

Thank you both.

I also got a UKBA letter confirming that it should be ok if the exam is passed as they cannot ask candidates to take speaking and listening only for immigration purposes.

I then think a pass PET certificate should suffice.

Cheers.

Dear Colleagues

My Wife has a Pass PET exam but the listening is just below border line.

We have to apply in 30 days, it would be helpful to know if this will be acceptable.

It seems very difficult to get good information on the subject!

Thanks in advance.

Dear,
I need b1 certificate for tier 1 visa.
I have passed the cambridge PET exam with 82/100 but in reading I got just below the borderline. Will my result accepted or do I have to retake the exam thank you.
And how can I verify with UKVI.
