ILR new policy on 'knowledge of language and life'

Post by yanggl » Sun Dec 08, 2013 4:16 pm

Hi experts,

I noticed there is a recent change applied to the 'knowledge of language and life' requirement.

it says 'having a qualification in English at B1 level or above of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)'.

I had obtained an IELTS qualification before I got the Tier 1 General at Nov 2010. It has a 2 year validity period. So by the time I apply for ILR (Nov 2015), it would have become invalid.

So does it actually means, I have to take another test apart from the 'life in UK' test before Nov 2015?

Any help is much appreciated.

Best Regards

Hi Ayyubi72, thanks for the answer! And my apologies for not searching the forum before post this query. Will ensure I always do so in future.
