Indian passport surrender - when waiting British passport

Hi Forum members,

Is it possible to parallelzse the British passport application, and the Indian passport surrender process?

No, you need to enclose a copy of your British passport. Your surrender certificate has your British passport number and date and place of issue mentioned.

Surrender procedure is simple and quick.

Thanks samkma, what is the difference of timeline between sending application by special delivery with a self-addressed special delivery envelope in there, versus applying and collecting in person at a visa application center?

We would be surrendering 2 passports, mine and my wife's.

From what I have seen on this forum:
In person - you get the cancelled passport and certificate back in 3 -5 days
By Post (using a special delivery return) 5 - 7 days.
