I've been researching thoroughly this site to look for a similar case as mine but did not find any. However infor from here has helped me a lot to prepare my application. A solicitor I spoke to did not think I can get RC so I did it by myself, saving ££££ and I got it yesterday.
My case is near impossible because:
- My EEA partner is still a married person (split but not officially divorced)
- Cohabitation only 3 months before application, although we've been in a relationship for many years and usually only together for a short period over holidays or so as he works abroad and going back and forth between there and the UK frequently. Total time spends in the UK is about no more than 100 days/year. I've been in the UK since 2009 on Tier 4 visa
We apply on the basis of self sufficient. The EEA partner has EHIC card, and from March 2013 bought CSI, started paying council tax. He owns the apartment where we live
My timeline:
EEA2 sent June 2013
COA received July 2013
RC received Dec 2013
We provided all standard documents for a unmarried case. My EEA partner wrote a letter explaining his marital status, and evidence of self-sufficient. I provided all records of our 8 years relationship
We thought we only had a slim chance but hoped for the best. We got it, right before Christmas. Such a wonderful gift! So, if you have a genuine relationship and you provide all necessary evidence of that then I think you have a good chance even though you have not met some of the requirements.
Good luck you guys. Merry Christmas!
