Please help me to find the best time to apply ILR

My current Visa is Tier 1 G,and expires on 1st of July 2014.
Following is my brief visa history.
2002.8-2007.1 student visa
2007.5-2010.11 WP
But company close down on 2009.1 and my redundancy was informed to HO at that time.
Could not find a new job ,I went back to home country and applied Tier 1 G
4/4/2009 - 27/10/2009 not inside UK and my new tier 1 was start on 1st July 2009

I guess 10 years to ILR is out of question ,because the gap was longer than 6 months
So 5 years tier 1 to ILR ,does it start from 27/10/2009 to 27/10/2014 or start from 1/7/2009 to 1/7/2014 ?
When can I start apply ILR?

No particular reason .Treated like a long vacation maybe ,never thought the gap should less than 6 months.
After I got my Tier 1 ,I got a job offer from UK.I freelanced for 2 months at home then decided to go back to UK.
