My wife and I are looking at moving to Canada. I am Canadian/British and she is Danish. I know she wont be able to work in Canada until she gets her perm residency which could take up to 2 years, but I would like to know if we are still entitled to some benefits.
She is due in July. Is there any problem with her having the baby in Canada? Is health care for her covered? Will she be entitled to any other benefit? Should we have the baby in the UK, then move to Canada?
I have been away from Canada now for about 10 years and really lost about the whole thing!
I was made redundant at my post just last week, we were going to use this as a perfect time to move to Canada, then found out about the blessed complication.
Any help?
