Dependent visa for spouse (Tier 2 Sponsored)

Post by tier2_applicant » Mon Dec 09, 2013 11:50 am

Hi all,

I am currently residing in the UK on a Tier 2 company sponsored visa which has presently got another year left on it. I am getting married in March 2014 in India and wish to apply for a dependent visa (at VFS India) for my spouse, a couple of day after our wedding.

What form do I need to fill for this ?
I think that I will need the following documents:

1. My Passport & visa
2. My bank statements
3. My proof of accommodation
4. My payslips
5. Completed application form (not sure which one when applying from India?)
6. Marriage certificate

Are there any other documents required from my side?
My spouse has never been to the UK before. What documents on her part will be required to be submitted with the application?

Is there anything else that I might be overlooking?
I hope you can help me with my queries.

Thanks

Hi,

Two more questions concerning my scenario:

1.
So if the application is being made from India, my understanding is that the process for applying is:

- build an application online, using Visa4UK website
- fill VAF10 form
- get documents ready
- pay fee online at Visa4UK and get appointment at the local center

Can you please confirm if this is correct ?

2.

Is it worthwhile starting the application online now even though the marriage certificate will only be available after the 1st of March (date of marriage) ? I would like to do this to save time but is it possible to build it in advance without the complete list of documents (like marriage certificate) ? I am in UK but my (to be) wife is in India at the moment.

Hope someone can answer these.

Many thanks
