Sameena akhtar wrote:Recently i sent an email to the UKBA ccomplaining about the lengthy time it has taken for my husbands case; today i got the following email:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for your email regarding your husband’s application. Unfortunately, the delay in spousal applications has bee due to an on going High Court judgement which is being contested by the Hoe Office. The hearing for the appeal has been set for March 2014 after which processing of the applications will commence.

We apologise for this delay.

Kind regards
Complaints team

Does this mean I will have to wait until March the email isn't very clear!!

hey that is unclear, however are you earning above the minimum inxome or less?

What about the A1 English test? what sort of ID is required to take the test? would sponsor's ID be required or just the applicant's passport in her original name would be sufficient?
Hi,

My wife gave her I.D card for proof of identification. However, because her passport was getting made, she was given a piece of paper with her passport number on it. She took this along to the A1 english test as well as her I.D card. So you would need both forms of identification. Rather play safe in that sense.

- Apparently, there is a A1 english test where you can get the results in 2 weeks (according to my wife). For this you need both forms of I.D (nadra/passport).
U never need both passport and CNIC for Ielts, only one is fine. I've appeared twice in ielts test after i submitted application in Sep 2013 bcoz am a pharmacist n i needed higher score for registration wiv GPhC.

But my documents clearly show i earn 19.000! This was from the UKBA after i sent them a complaint. It does look likr a general emailing addressing the delay rather than actual answering my question!

I'm going to call my MP and the UKBA on Monday InshaAllah.

A1 is a required level ov English for spouse visa. (Its not an English language test) anyone can prove dis A1 level by Ielts, pearson test or any other english language test approved by UKBA.

Assalamu alaykum.

Just registered on this forum today. Here is my timeline for my husbands application...

Application date: 19/06/13
Under process at BHC: 03/07/13
Case on hold: 28/11/13
Documents submitted: 29/11/13

I have been reading the posts on this forum almost everyday...some of us have to go through a really long wait! May Allah SWT make it easy ameen.

I would like to ask Sameena which further documents did they ask you for??? They asked me just for the pay slip of May. I have no idea how long they are going to take now.

A1 is still a test, written and spoken. I agree, it is also the required level of english needed for the spouse visa.

I gave in 14 weeks payslips and 6 months bank statements with my husbands, i stupidly didn't realise that i needed 6 months worth, i was assured 14 weeks would be enough
