EU Partner Visa for the second time

Post by Sunshine86 » Fri Jan 03, 2014 2:10 pm

Hi

I am already in Ireland on the EU Partner Visa, as my husband is an EU citizen. Due to some reason we have to go back to my country for 3-6 months therefore, the current visa would be cancelled in the due course.

So am I still eligible to apply for the same visa again if needed in the future giving the same reasons to accompany my EU husband into the state? What will be my chances to get it again?

Thanks in advance.

If your partner/spouse still meets the requirements you can apply again and you should be approved (IF you guys still meet the requirements, i.e. if he is still exercising treaty rights)

Don't worry.

Chaoclive,

End of Feb is when its expiring.

I have not applied for EU1 yet, as we might esp my british husband have to leave Ireland by the end of this or next month for 3-6 months.

I was thinking to rather apply for EU1 using the self sufficient route. Do you think if I did apply through self sufficient, would my brtish husband be able to travel while the application for me is under process?

And how much money are we talking abt for this application, any idea?

Thank you

Hi Chaoclive

Would the only requirement to get the EU partner visa again, be that my partner is an EU citizen?

Thank you

There aren't any specific amounts of money mentioned in the legislation. I guess (but I'm no expert) that the Embassy staff would not be allowed to ask for copies of your bank statements etc (that's not allowed under the Directive). But this might come up later when you apply for EEA2.

Also you will need comprehensive medical insurance.

RE: the EEA citizen travelling: this won't be a problem, but if it is too much and the Irish authorities find out your residence card may be rejected (This is only my opinion).
