Holidays in France ?? EU + Non EU??

Post by DanielL » Mon Jan 13, 2014 7:48 pm

Me and my wife we are planning holidays in France. I'm EU member my wife is not, she is holding valid Irish VISA.

Do we need to apply for French VISA?? Or for as long she is travelling with me we are OK??

Ireland is not in schengen zone but in French Embassy.ie we can read "From January 2nd 2012 , following European Convention 2004/38, the foreign spouse or family member of an EU national may enter France without a visa if they are in possession of"

http://www.ambafrance-ie.org/Can-I-obta ... -dependent

Thanks
Daniel

What kind of Irish visa has she got? If she has a resident permit that says EUFam then she should be fine.
Moved to Ireland: Feb 13
UK FP: Granted November 13
Ireland RC: Granted Feb 14
Returned to the UK: Feb 14
Applied for EEA2: 18th March 14
EEA2 Rejected: October 14 (re-submitted docs)
EEA2 Granted: December 14 (valid till 2019!)

The page on the embassy website you linked is correct.

If she has a GNIB card from Ireland with Stamp 4EUFam -> no visa needed as long as you are traveling toghether.

Otherwise she needs a visa (but it will be easy and free of charge if you are traveling toghether).
