Fund Requirement for Entry clearance

Post by ishkad » Sat Jun 30, 2007 9:06 am

How much fund I need to show when applying for entry clearance once approval letter is received.

Since I collect most of my salary in cash and same thing is mentioned in my wages slip.

Can I show my parents fund as sponsores for entry clerance since i have very low bank credit in my bank account.

Please sugest me.

Ishan, Kathmandu

I have read from other ppls post that one needs around 3500 GBP per applicant.

You can show support from your parents. Get a letter from them to this effect and present their bank statements.

As far as funds are concerned - the more the better it is for you...

If you have friends/relatives in the UK who wouldnt mind letting you stay at their place till you get on your feet, have them write you a letter stating so. Present that with your EC application, and that might offset your low bank balance.

This has been discussed before - do a search on it to get more details.

Will a letter alone suffice or do we also need their rental agreement papers, council tax, pay slips, etc? Or, are these needed only if they're sponsoring our stay in the UK?

Thanks in advance.

Those pieces of evidence are needed only if they are sponsoring you on a visitor's visa.

Just a letter letter worked for me. Do a search to find my post on the subject - I included a sample.

Thank you for suggestion.

I am planning to show my parent as financial sponser since they have enough bank balance and properties.

For accomodation, my freind who is studying in UK will be the sponser.

Will it be fine?

Parents are good for $$$...

But for accomodation, I'd reckon UK Citizen > UK Perm Res > UK non-citizen

As per my immigration consultants its a little risky to show parents' funds. Its OK to show only your partners funds. They suggested me to go for a personal loan of 4000 pounds each. This is supposed to be the safest.

Would a invitation letter faxed from relative/friend work? Or, does it need to be a hard copy (couriered across)?

I printed out an email for my friend but this was 5 years ago so they seem a little more cranky nowadays

As I am bit hard pressed for time, I have a scanned copy of the invite letter emailed across from my friend in UK.

I am also thinking if it's ok to get a sponsor letter ( and supporting docs) saying he can arrange accommodation and financial support to us.

Does this sound alright?

If you are single 3000 GBP is enough
or else 4500 to 5000 GBP
