It's ok because I'm actually away Jan 20th and wouldn't have been able to make that ceremony. I was hoping they could tell me roughly when the next one is because I'm travelling again in April and would hate to miss 2! But it seems I wouldn't have gotten in the January 20th one anyhow.

I got my approval letter November 15th and I believe I sent in my fees at the beginning of December.

By the way, I've travelled twice since relinquishing my GNIB card. Both times I took a photocopy of my GNIB card and my approval letter. The first time I wasn't asked, but my second time through Dublin airport I was asked for the copy of the letter. So maybe a good idea to make sure you have it if you travel, especially if some of us are on waiting lists and will be several months without a GNIB card!

Hi all - to give those who are still waiting some hope, I posted my GNIB card and fee in on Nov 25th. I needed to commit to dates in work so email them today to inquire if I'd made the cut for the Jan 20th ceremony, I've been told I have and to expect a letter in the coming days. Finally!

Congratulations! At least we'll have some Canadian representation there! :)

The ceremony is posted on INIS website: http://www.inis.gov.ie/

Dublin Citizenship Ceremony in January 2014

The next citizenship ceremonies will take place in The Convention Centre Dublin, Spencer Dock, North Wall Quay, Dublin 1 on Monday 20th January, 2014.
Some 3,120 candidates will attend the ceremonies where they will take an oath of fidelity to the nation, receive their certificate of naturalisation and thereby become Irish citizens.

For everyone who is still waiting for an invitation, my documents were received on the 2d of December, no invitation yet.
I emailed this morning and asked whether I can expect it for january 20, to which a very prompt reply was "yes"... :)

Hey Everyone,
I got my letter to attend citizenship ceremony on 20th Jan 2014 at 2:50 pm.
I applied back in March/April 2013, got approval on 15th Nov 2013 and i fulfilled all requirements within a week of getting my approval letter.
i have one question for you if someone can help:

I hold Indian nationality my Gnib card expired on 2nd Jan 2014, I have to travel on 8th of Feb 2014 urgently.
Say i become Irish on 20th Jan after that can i get visa on my Indian passport ? Do i have to pay ?

Many Thanks

@ahm

Ceremony would be over in two hours, i would suggest that street parking is the best, it will take an hour to come out of convention centre parking.

@ calvin, thanks for the tip.

I know only 1 adult is permitted with the applicant. What about children? i have one 3 yr old daughter, i can't leave her .. Do you think it would be okay with them to enter?

Atleast we're proud of being straight, how many sex change from male to female could have baby for the rest of their life.

And hold on a minute, who told the membership of the an gardai criminal section that, part of the nationality assessment slower for immigrant waiting to be Irish citizen is for them to monitor their in and out of their residential building to check if they all sleep over in their nominated addresses or not, and under what immigration rule in the 1956 nationality act, even on discretionary power of the minister under section 15 does not says that either, must you not all need help from a psychiatric doctor new roro scott? :P
