What is the title of the job, and what are the job specs. Does it require someone with special skills (e.g. higher degree, language, etc)?

It's not a question of the pay level. And it's a company that applies for a WP, rather than the employee.
What sort of job is it?

I joined the company as System Administrator , i hold Master Degree in Infrmation Technology.
My Job requires technical skills and and experience. Infact i was working for the company in part time role durring my study period( 16 months) and from last month my company gave me full time job with more responibilities..

I presume you are not an EEA citizen?
The company would have to show that they couldn't find an EEA national to do the job. It doesn't sound likely, from what you've said.

No offence intended, but I strongly doubt there would be many EEA citizens willing to work as system administrators for a salary which is just above the minimum wage.

Yeah, I agree with Marco....£16000 is just barely more than what you would make working for MacDonalds or Burger King and certainly not inline with what you would expect a system administrator to be paid.
I would expect that the Home Office would view an application for a work permit at this pay level with some suspicion.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

Is there a minimum pay level required for a WP in general?

There are some occupation sheets on the Home Office website which give salary levels
http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/docume ... loccsheet/
There is actually an IT occupation sheet. I think the lowest salary there for a WP, but not TWES, might be for a senior carer outside London at £11,500 per annum for a 40 hour week.

I am surprising also to see that IT occupation come to the low income bracket. On the contrary the pople here report that they got salary aorund around 60k just to work as administator. Also, for what I have seen sofar, this is not the case. Any interesting explanation ?. I am not suprised that accountant is in the high income bracket, this match to my personal observation.

Pantaiema you are very true, System Administrator got high pay but cenrtainly not 60K. for 60K you need certification like CCIE and four or five year experience at good level.
Other thing is People from Management and Finance always get high wage than people with technical skills
http://www.itjobswatch.co.uk/ shows any changes in salaries for different fields

It depends on where you are working. A system administrator at the headquarters of a major bank in London can earn a lot more than one working for a travel agency in Scarborough.

One more question
this is striking to my mind since last night.
I have read in one of work permit documents that work permit Applicants can not start the work unless HO issue them work permit visa .
In my case it is completely opposite, i have already started full time work (as SEGS status) and now my employer will start the work permit application .
Does this have any contradiction with Work permit procedures..??
Many Thanks
