Hi Kumar

How did you come to know that your passport is ready for collection? Did they email you or you went to check on your own?

I have submitted application on 10 Jan and made travel plans for 8th feb as I did not know about the new 5 week timeline. I am not sure if I will get the passport in time for the trip.

I had asked for tatkal service at the time of application submission but was told that it's available only for medical emergencies.

Can anyone advice how I can get passport quickly?

Thank you very much for your replies and support.

I received my passport on 17-1-14. I submitted my application in person on 23-12-13 and they asked my wait for 5 weeks but i went to HCI london on17-3-14 and my passport is ready to collect.

Now i have a very quick question, i got my ILR on 31-5-2013, do i need to transfer my ILR on to my new passport or i don't have to do any thing????? Please advice, i have travel plans to India on 1-2-14.

Sorry for not been able to reply to your messages.

I just went to passport office exactly after 3 weeks and i got my passport. Don't wait for them to intimate you. Mine was in person application and i went to collect it as well.

Go to passport office between 4-5pm.

I had applied on 10 January and went in person to check status on 3 feb at counter 7. They told me that passport has been dispatched from India on 3rd feb and it takes 4-5 working days to reach here.
They did not respond to email or phone calls so anyone waiting I suggest go and check in person. It did not take too much time as counter 7 queue was not very long.

Also, counter 7 enquiry time is in the morning.
One more thing is that due to lot of ppl facing delay issues they are now issuing short validity 2 year passport that can be issued in 6-8 days or a emergency travel letter if u had a passport that expired.

Hi guys,
I applied for a new passport on the 13.12.2013 via post with a talkal service (extra £100) and it's been 8 weeks but haven't received my passport yet. Every time I email them they say “The new passport is not ready. The application is still being processed.
We are still waiting for the passport booklet to come from India. They will be sent in batches(and not individually per applicant) from India by courier. Sorry, we cannot guarantee any specific collection dates/time frames as the passports are coming printed from India.” I am not sure what's happening now as I have started doubting that it might be lost in post. Would you suggest me going in person to HCI? If so what time would you recommend morning or evening and is there any enquiry counter there.

Problem is I am not staying in london it takes me 3 hrs to come.. Even I am mailing them on alternate days..If you are in london please visit them and let me know

Hi Ashish,

Yes I just collected my passport from the embassy. I would suggest to send them a fax stating your situation and email them every day. Also it would be worth following up in person if no luck. Go between 9-12 in the morning and see if it helps. My the system is disgraceful but I am afraid we would have to deal with it. All the best

But last week they were saying your passport is not ready right ?? And yesterday you gone there in person and it was ready ?? Is that so ??

I got an email from them on Friday informing that they have received a consignment form India and my passport is in it. So I went in person. You would be notified in an email when they receive your pp but you need to keep pestering them.
