Hi forumites - would certainly need your advice here;
I applied for a RC under EEA regulations on more than 2 occassions and I was refused with the HO retaining my passport.
The 1st one was with a Marriage Cert by telephone and the Home Office deemed it as invalid - which when we checked with a lawyer we discovered that it is valid under the Marriage Act.
Subsequently my spouse (EEA) national travelled to Nigeria for our Customary wedding and got it registered under 60 days which we presented to the HO as they say the prior one was not valid.
The HO refused the 2nd marriage Cert and had lumped both marriage together when clearly the have stated that the first one was invalid - I have put in an appeal re this.
Que: I have been seeking advice and was told to try get a wedding done here in the UK before the appeal date and there is a 2nd thought that a 2nd marriage under UK law is unacceptable.
Please how best do I approach this? very confused here
Your advice will be appreciated
