Tier 2 general visa - working during application

Hi all

I'm on a tier two general visa sponsored by my employer

Am I allowed to work during the decision process of my visa? Ie if I apply a month before it expires. Am I allowed to work in that month during the decision process.

What if the decision hasn't been made and my existing brp expires? Ie if I apply 1 week before it expires - do I have to stop working after a week and leave the country whilst it is under decision?

if you make a valid application before your leave expires the leave you had at the time of the application is automatically extended until the HO make their decision on the application (section 3C, Immigration Act 1971), i.e. you can work during this period
