Because there heartless lol!
I was put on hold cuz i didnt send continous 6 month wage slips. I went to pak for a month on unpaid so they said tht left a gap in my employment. i sent them a letter frm employer telling them am still in employment etc. Bt they didnt accept. Wht a think they wanted was that months wage slips to make up for the 'gap' in employment. And i didnt have them obviously as i was abroad. Such a petty reason.

Yeah they seen to take a while replying to mps too now. I believe its due to the large amounts of people contacting mps on their behalf.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if BHC do employment checks, and if they do what kind of checks do they do. Do they call the employer or do they just check with HMRC.

Also if they do check, is this a random check, as in they only check some cases or do they check every case.

Has this check happened to anyone, if so please do share your experience.

To KashmiriMunda

The BHC do checks on some applicants applications when they doubt that there job genuine. They do this by contacting their employer. Thats what i heard, but dont know the whole facts because i am self employed.

To Tazmaniaa

It took them roughly 15 weeks to let me know that my husband application is on hold and they require more documents and we applied from Islamabad, where did you apply from and what date?

Got this reply this morning ... I think this means mines on hold :-(

Thank you for your e-mail of 17 January 2013.
Your application for settlement has been received by this office and is currently being processed. Our External Customer Standards for settlement applications are to process 95% within 12 weeks and 100% within 24 weeks. Unfortunately, some applications are currently taking longer than usual to conclude.
On 5 July 2013, the High Court in the UK handed down its judgment in a Judicial Review of the minimum income threshold for spouses/partners and children applying in the family route. Having reviewed the judgment, the UK Home Secretary has decided to pursue an appeal to the Court of Appeal (and has asked for this to be expedited).
The Home Office has therefore temporarily 'paused' decision-making on some spouse/partner and child settlement visa and leave to remain applications. This may be for several months at least. More information about this hold on decisions is set out on our website.
In many cases we are also undertaking additional checks on sponsors income and employment.
If you would like your passport to be returned to you whilst your application remains under consideration, please email us and this will be arranged for you.
I apologise for the inconvenience this will cause you and your family. We will contact you again shortly with more information regarding your application. Please refrain from further correspondence with us during this time.
Yours sincerely,

TA
