First of all if I am not wrong your husband got temporary stamp 4 for six months. If yes then if you see the letter which you got from eu treaty rights section it clearly says if you change your addresss while your case is pending then you need to inform us and provide further documents about that address means prtb letter and letter from landlord.so if you find a place in limerick then you will have to write to them and inform them and in the same way in Dublin too.and whereever you stay in Ireland you need to report to local immigration.I hope this help.please dont hesitate to contact me.and I live near to limericj.if you require further info please pm me.thnx

I am aware of the address change. We initially said we are staying with a friend (provided a letter from him - the landlord, his utility bill and deeds) until we find suitable accommodation. We were asked to submit more bankd statements, sales invoices and if renting, utility bills, bank statements and correspondence.
We are trying to find a place to rent so we can provide the above documents as soon as possible.

Thanks guys!

I wanted to ask if there was any point emailing INIS for an update? Our decision is due by February but we are getting so impatient. I don't the email to have an adverse effect on the application. Can someone advise?

Thanks loverboy2

It just feels like its taking so long. Is there any way to see the status of it? Would it be on the INIS decisions page or is that only for other applications?

Our decision is due 15th Feb, are applications being done in time these days? When do you think we should expect it? We would ideally want to leave Ireland before 20th Feb.

Pleaseeeee someone tell me it will be decided before 15th!!!! lol

We got ours on week 25. Some people even have to wait until week 28 or 29. Nothing is ever certain I'm afraid!

Please also bear in mind the UK law regarding SS has been tightened. You must show that you made Ireland the centre of your life. Also keep in mind the time it will take for the UK to process your application to return with your spouse.

Thank you latintraveller

I hope that in the spirit of the new year they speed it up just a little! So yours took only 4 months?
We already applied for a UK family permit and its valid till April. We are planning to re apply start of feb because after we return to the UK we have plans to travel in april and so he won't be able to return as he wont have a valid permit. Don't think we would have enough time to apply EEA2.

Do you think they will give him another 6 months before the old one has expired or give an extension? I would say we want to return to the UK in March.

Also, I have lived in Ireland since Feb 2013 and started a business. I don't have any residence in the UK so hopefully even if they apply the new rules it shouldn't be much of a problem, right?

Thanks!

Our's took a week (actually 10 days) under six months (sorry I implied three months above, I will edit the entry). For some people it takes up to a month over the six months. Regarding FP, I do not know very much about that. I also dont know much about EEA2. We are planning to stay in Ireland as my step-son is settled in school and we like it here.
All the best with your plans.

Hi all

I wanted to know if my husband can 'join' me in the UK if I left early? When we applied for the UK permit it was to travel together. Would it cause a problem boarding a plane to the UK?

What does the family permit says? if it says "Accompany EU Spouse" then you better travel together.
Just keep in mind that there is no border control when you arrive in UK. but your husband have to get his boarding card stamp by airline staff on Dublin airport before going through the security.

Is it necessary for the non-EU spouse to apply for work permit, before starting a job during the temporary 6 months stamp 4?

No its not. If he/she gets a temporary stamp 4, then hes allowed to work.

As long as the EU spouse is exercising their EU treaty rights the non-EU spouse may work in law.

The problem is that some employers may ask for a Stamp 4. Other employers may be happy to employ them if they have a PPS number.

Once my husband gets an Ireland resident card, can he travel back to Ireland on his own?

Can someone please confirm? My husband and I are planning to travel to UK but in return I want to stay longer so can my husband return to Ireland on his own? He has a temp stamp 4 valid till 15th Feb (haven't got the decision on his resident card yet).

Please can someone answer ASAP as we plan to travel this week. Thank you!

The right to work stems directly from the directive. I acknowledge the practical difficulties one may have demonstrating the right to work without the expected documentation.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy :D we got a letter from INIS and it says my husband's application has been approved!!!!! :D One step closer to freeeedom

So, I'm here with my questions again! LOL (Thank you to everyone who has been helping me along this interesting journey!!!)

We are going UK tomorrow and my husband is returning alone. I'm not sure when I'll return so I wanted to know if he can go and get the stamp EUfam card himself? I know on the letter it says I need to be with him and he needs to show my ID. Can he take my driving license or birth certificate and get the card or is it crucial that I have to be there?

It is critical that you be there with him. After all, it is granted on the basis that you are working and living in Ireland, so there is no reason why you would be unable to go with him. The only acceptable excuse would be if you had a letter from an Irish hospital saying you were an in-patient and could not leave hospital to go with him.

They will also look very carefully at the photo on the driving licience.

Thank you for the quick reply Brigid.

Of course I understand. Just thought I'd confirm but I don't mind changing my plans for something we've waited for, for nearly 6 months!
