You actually don't need an Irish passport to change your spouse's status from stamp 3 to 4. All you need is your naturalisation certificate, passport and GNIB card of foreign spiuse, marriage certificate and proof of same address such as bank statements and you go to INIS. I did it straight after coming from citizenship ceremony.
I had actually lost my GNIB card some time back and did not bother paying the €300 to replace it because I knew as the spouse of an Irish national I don't have to pay for a GNIB card. All I had to do was produce a police lost report.
