ILR success Croydon 27/1/2014

Post by sb86 » Wed Jan 29, 2014 12:50 pm

Dear all,

My application ILR was successful on 27/1/2014! First of all, thanks for everyone on this forum who answered my queries and shared their experiences! I did not need any lawyers or advice from anywhere else!

I had a Tier 2 (General) visa since 2009 and my partner was with me since October 2010. Therefore applied for ILR after 5 years of stay. I had an appointment at 8:30 but I was allowed inside at 8 o'clock.

The process was simple:
- Security check
- Case registration (i was informed it takes 10 minuts)
- Biometrics (also 10 minutes) here all my documents were taken and I was asked if I want to wait at the care of want to leave and come back. I decided to stay with my partner in the cafe.
- one hour and a half later, our number was shown on the screen as ready for collection.
- the lady who gave me the letter said the letter was successful and card will be posted to us in 7 to 10 working day. I received the card today though on 29/1/2014!!!

Documents that i took:
- Form set (O)
- Appointment letter and payment sheet
- 4 photogoraphs ( 2 for me and 2 for my partner)
- Two passports (mine and my partners)
- PBR cards
- Police registration certificates
- Letter from my employer
- 12 months payslips
- p60s for past 5 years
- Bank statements for last 12 months (Joint with my partner)
- Co-hab documents: Bank statements, council tax letter, electricity bills, driving licenses counterparts, NHS letter to my partner, university letter to my partner, mortgage statement and land registry ( under my name only), UKBA letters from previous visas (both our names), car insurance certificates (both our names), marriage certificates.

We were not interviewed or asked any questions. The staff were friendly.

The only advice I would give is not to include anything extra not needed like covering letters or things they have not asked for! and if you are stuck with anything, ask the experts on this website! helped me a lot!!!

Good luck to whoever is applying soon.

Hi,
No I didn't provide any extra letters for absences. I included an excel sheet to include all my absences dates, destination, purpose. I attached the sheet to the section where you list the absences in the form.

Some nations asked to register with police. Some not

Cheers. As my name gives away, I'm an Indian and yet to find a fellow countryman who've been asked to!

Commonwealth nationals are normally exempted from Police registration.
