ILR Application: TV License court summons

Post by adrulz » Mon Feb 03, 2014 9:40 pm

Dear All,

I have a question in regards to when will I become eligible to make ILR application. I was sent a court summons and sentenced guilty for not paying the TV licence on time.

Below was the information on the court summons

Date of court hearing: 27th April, 2012
Date of the summons: 23rd Feb, 2012
Date of information: 22nd Feb, 2012
Allege: Between 16/11/2011 and 18/12/2011 used a COLOUR Television receiver without TV licence.

I was found guilty due to the fact that I dint appear in the court as we had moved the house and had received the letter late. I had paid all the fines etc thinking that its just fine and dint want to get into hassle at that time.

I would like to know when will I be able to apply for ILR i.e. from which date do I consider 24 months.

Much obliged,
Aadi

27th April, 2012.

You could have made a statutory declaration to have the conviction set aside if you were unaware of the case. Although I don't know whether you would have subsequently been found guilty or not.

I understand that however not quite clear which date will be the date of conviction.

I would be grateful if you can clarify that.
