English Language Qualification Confusion for Settlement

Post by AA1 » Thu Feb 06, 2014 6:12 pm

Hello Members

I need some help with confusion surrounding English Language requirements for UK Settlement (ILR).

I have done a Edexcel Entry Level Certificate at Entry Level 3 (ESOL - Skills for Life (SPEAKING AND LISTENING) and have also done the Life in the UK test.

However the above qualification is not listed on the SELT list
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... -tests.pdf

However looking into a bit more the UKBA says it will accept ESOL qualifications if they are registered on the Ofqual register.

"The qualification must be listed as an ESOL qualification on the Register of Regulated Qualifications and have been taken in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. The register is available at: http://register.ofqual.gov.uk/2 " The qualification is listed in this register as such.

Can anyone confirm if my ESOL cert is described is acceptable for settlement application, as I don't want to waste the huge fee over a silly mistake.

Thanks in advance
