Hi Guys,
I'm bit confused about ILR qualifying period. Please advice me when is the earliest I can apply for ILR.
Tier 2 General visa (EC) stamp date: 08/07/2009
Entered Uk on: 17/07/2009
So does that mean I can apply for ILR on 10th June 2014, I.e 28 days before 5 years anniversary taking in consideration EC stamp date?
Please let me know.
Thanks

Obviously, you started living in the UK after you entered the UK. I don't think that it's a trick question.

Hello Amber/Vinny,
As mentioned above I can apply for ILR on 10th June 2014. Before I book appointment I just want to confirm the following:
Application for ILR from Tier 2 (General)
Tier 2 General visa (EC) stamp date: 08/07/2009
Entered Uk on: 17/07/2009
Leave to Remain expiry: 02/09/2014
So as mentioned I can apply 28 days before EC stamp date (5 year anniversary) ? That it is 10th June 2014.
Though i have valid visa until 02/09/2014.
Really appreciate your reply as I will be booking appointment soon.

Hello,
My question is when is the earliest i can apply for ILR? I am hearing different things evrytime. Its been advised above that i can apply on 10th June, that is 28 days before my 5 uear anniversary as i entered with 90 days when visa was issued. My dates are say follows:
Application for ILR from Tier 2 (General)
Tier 2 General visa (EC) stamp date: 08/07/2009
Entered Uk on: 17/07/2009
Leave to Remain expiry: 02/09/2014
So as mentioned above by some experienced people, please confirm if i can apply on 10th or 11th June 2014
Really appreciate your reply as I will be booking appointment as sson as they open will pay for it.

Great thanks. 10th or 11th June is not an issue. But some people are saying I have to wait until July to complete 5 years anniversary rather than applying 28 days before 5th anniversary that is 10th June.
Hence I am confused.
Please confirm.

Thanks again. That means the 5 year anniversary is counted as per the EC stamp date as i entered uk within a week. Hence i can apply 10th June. Right?

Hello skc84, When you say, your leave is expiring on 02/09/2014 , is your job contract coming to an end?
I am in-similar situation like yours. I have been told that The employer letter must state that I am required for foreseeable future. I am struggling to understand tht if I have completed 5 yrs of employment as per rule and I still have 3 months left of work contract, why 'foreseeable future' is needed on the letter!

Why are you still confused. Amber has already answered your question and I don't see any more confusion in it.
