Please could you tell if your approval letter and documents came by recorded delivery? was it by Royal mail? did you have to sign to receive your docs?
Thank you
It was Special Delivery and they needed signing to hand it over. Yours will arrive soon as well. I think they are on it now
Congratulations mate, you've been very helpful on this site. Very pleased to see that you have now gotten your freedom!!

You applied a day after me, so it looks like the UKVI are picking up speed now, they are doing mid September applications. I hope I get mine soon.

One thing I was wondering about is the special delivery that needs to be signed for. I have a concierge in my apartment complex that will receive the mail as I am at work all day. They should be able to sign on my behalf right? or do they need me specifically to sign for my documents?

Cheers

Hi all.
Some new developments for those looking at spouse applications after getting ILR on 10 years LR

I booked an appointment today at Croydon for SET(m), but brought everything for flr(m) too. At reception I was informed I must got though flr(m) first, and that they have had instruction today (they showed me the email) instructing them they can no longer process flr(m) and set(m) on the same day. They say this is because it creates extra complications in the biometric system and is causing delays.

So I have paid the £953 for FLR(m), and am currently awaiting that decision. If approved they have offered to book me an 'emergency' appointment tomorrow to process my set(m).

It looks like SSWSZ may have been one of the lucky last few to get the same day processing.

Thank you and I hope you get yours soon as well. I will continue to come back from time to time as their is now one more hurdle to cross ;)

They don't ask for the ID, just someone at the address has to sign for it to confirm they have delivered it at the correct address.

And a final update from today ( see below for the first part):

After my flr(m) was approved, I returned to the the reception to make the set(m) appointment. Having said earlier in the afternoon I would be able to do that tomorrow, they now announced I need to wait for my BRP to arrive. Again, they say the problem is that they will no longer let you have two BRP applications in process as there is a problem with the system. This was not the caseworker's decision but the manager of the reception area.

So I now gave to await my BRP arrival and then return. Because I need to travel in a few weeks I have had to put off the settlement appointment until I return. After my experience I would caution against trying to do this all in one day. At least at Croydon they seem to have clamped right down.

Hello gurus!

I need advice as I am bit confuse now. I applied ILR in sept hopefully I will get it by this week. My wife she is on tier 1 dependent visa she passed her ESOL ENTRY 3 test which is = B1 but few friends says to me that for Flr (M) requirement is A1 which is lower then B1. But home office ask A1 instead of B1 which is confusing. Any suggestions? Is B1 is ok for flr (m) visa? Please advice me. Thanks

If you read carefully the Guidance note of language requirement for FLR (M) it says minimum requirement A1 or above.

Don't worry about it too much it's all OK. It would be stupid to request separate certificates for each application type. B1 will cover both.

I'm exactly in same situation, applied for FLR(M) for my wife whilst waiting my ILR (still waiting) and included B1 on her application.

Good luck!

Hello gurus/friends
Silent reader here for past few years..just wanted to give my details here
Applied : 19th September 2013
Brp letter : 20th November 2013
Brp done : 2-3 days later
Approval letter : 04 Feb 2014
Brp card rec : 05 Feb 2014
No lawyer used..applied on me own with advice given by gurus on here
Details: My case had one glitch in it that I got FPN last year for entering "No entry except for access" road.I actually live on that street but I did not stop or deviate from my route which was required by law and a cop car coming behind me pulled me over and fined me..I went to court against it as I thought it was unjust and lost that case...meant I got mandatory 3 penalty points on April 2013
I still went ahead and applied for 10 year based ILR hoping for best outcome and by grace of God I did get it and now I'm stress free...I pray for all of u still waiting for theirs
Now I've one query regarding my wife, she came here in Nov 2011 as Tier 1 general dependent..then in Oct 2012 I applied for final 2 year extension including hers.So now as she 1st came here b4 laws were changed in 2012..should I fill up set (M) or Flr (M) for her.I read about 319d(E) rule but it confused me a bit ..also im thinking about goin to Croydon rather than by post. Will really appreciate final help by gurus here :)
