Hi

I have applied for Tier 2 ICT long term extension last month.
Will my employer come to know when the approval for my application has been made by UKBA ?
Can somebody please advice if you have come across before ?

no, they won't. You have to show them your new BRP when you receive it

Just to add to what Manci said and from my personal experience - if your company has submitted the application on your behalf which most of the big enough Indian companies do and they provide the company address to home office, your company will receive the approval letter and the BRP card, so they will know prior to you if your application has been successful.
