I went to Sheffield PEO. I suggest you should try your luck here and NOT Croydon as some members have not had much luck there.Muhammad1 wrote:Hi can you please let me know which peo u went for straight Set M,was it Croydon or shefield.
Thanks.
6 cohabitation documents shoudd spread to cover 2years of cohabitation as stated in the form requirement. I selected bank statements, council tax, NHS letters, etc. to cover the last 2 years.suryavaddi wrote:tnt2429 wrote:Hi,
I applied for my wife straight to SET(M) without being asked to switch to FLR(M) first like SWSS case. Hence only paid £1426 through online appoinment booking. The appointment went so smooth and without any questions. Guess it was a very lucky day for us. On the SET(M) form we only filled in maintenance for section 7B which does not requires £18,600 salary as my wife came to UK in 2011 (the old rules applied).
Regarding SET(M) supporting documents, we submitted:
1. Marriage certificate
2. Life in the UK test
3. PET English test result and certificate (to demonstrate B1 level)
4. 6 cohabitation documents
5. 4months payslips + bank statements to prove payslip payments.
That's all we submitted together with the application form (+ photos + passports).
I hope this helps.

Interesting observation, unfortunately my biometric letter took 1 month to arrive so had no choice.. I enrolled my biometrics 4 weeks after applying.Hardikjshah83 wrote:looking at the sky drive data, it seems like HO works in order of the Bio Enrollment, instead of Application received, you may have sent application earlier, but if you delayed the Biomatric Enrollment (for any reason) it may delay your application too.
most people who have enrolled bio matric prior to 10th October has had their results, with few exceptions below.

It really depends on you my friend, a friend of mine was eligible for 5 year ILR and 10 year ILR but went for the latter because the documents required were far less, you only need your passports, life in the UK test and the application form.LetsGetPR wrote:which route is better ?
10 year ILR or Wait one year and apply under Tier 1 General ( 5 year stay).
Waiting for reply from gurus and moderators.
Thanks

First of all accept my appology if I am posting in the wrong section.
I need advice regarding me and my wife and my newborn.
I know its too early but i want to prepare what I need to do.
My situation is as follows
Currently Tier 2 and my salary is £20,000 and visa until June 2015 and 10 year completes on Sep 2014.
Wife came as post study dependent on Feb 2012 and switch to tier 2 dependent before 9 July 2012 and visa until June 2015.
Son born in the Uk on July 2013 and not applied for any visa yet.But got home country passport for him.
My Question is what is the best and quickest way we all can get settlement here in the UK?
Secondly whether my wife can apply ILR without switching to FLR(M)?
Bacause of our son its difficult for her to do a English language test to meet the language requirement therefore we want to meet this requirement by her pakistani B.com and M.com degree as the M.com degree is equivalent to Uk bachelor degree so planning to apply statement of campareability from UK NARIC but worried about how to prove that the degree was taught and researched in English as Pakistan is not a majority English speaking country.please help me in this regard also.
we will be very thankful to you.
Kind regards,
Mr & Mrs Ahmed

Hello M2013,M2013 wrote:Hi guys,
First of all, thank you so much for everybody’s kindness and support that you have been showing to members of the forum. I have been following the developments of the British immigration laws since I am also hoping to join the ranks of the British citizens in the near future. But I am having doubts regarding my situation and would be grateful for your advice.
I have been on HSMP visa, followed by Tier 1 General Migrant, but as a dependent to my husband. My husband has been working abroad all this time and continues not to be able to qualify for ILR, I am staying in the UK.
The situation re visa is as follows:
Clearance: 11 January 2005
Date of Entry: 17 April 2005 - The rest of the Tier 1 General visas have been prolonged successfully.
The current visa expires: 17 February 2015
In this 10 year period I have been away around a month altogether.
So I am hoping to have a straight case for my application for ILR, 10 year legal stay.
My questions are as follows:
When making an application for ILR – do I have to start counting the 10 year period since 17 April 2005?
Is there any chance to apply for ILR on 11 January 2015, or on 17 of February 2015?
Thank you again.
Hello LetsGetPR,LetsGetPR wrote:Hi Gurus, moderators friends and well wishers,
I came to UK on 17-Jan-2005.
I was on Student visa for 5 Years (done PhD from UK uni), 6 month on PSW and rest on Tier 1 General. All visas extended on time or before the expiry date. 120 days in total outside of UK.
My current visa expires on 26-Jan-2016.
Shall I apply on 10 years Long residency or Shall I wait until 26-Jan -2016.
I do not have any dependent in my application.
Which is the earliest date i can apply for 10 year based ILR.
Thanks
SSWSZ wrote:U have enough time so just apply for your ILR in August 28 days before 10 year completion .when you get the ILR then apply for your wife flr in peo and then set(m) peo so u will get the decision same day .as you wife is here befor July 2012 so she is under old rule. I myself try direct set(m) in Croydon but luck is not with even me I got indefinite but I have to pay both fees flr and set(m) in peo same day.someone update here that Croydon office stop doing this .
For your uk born child just apply for his/her registration through mn1 form and you will get British passport for your child after registration .i am not suggesting ,this is personnel experience and we do the same for ourself.
Hope this helps

Hi Kunal, you can and should apply for your wife's FLR(M) straight after your ILR, bearing in mind it takes them 3 days to issue the acknoledgement letter and then until you get her Bio done case worker will not look into the case. meanwhile if you get your UKNARIC certificate you can always send it as additional documents with covering letter detailing application refrence.kunal parikh wrote:This looks good. I am waiting for mine since I applied on 28th Sep 2013.
I have question. I am currently preparing for my wife's FLR M. I have also applied to UK NARIC and it looks like I will have to wait for next 10 days to get it done.
My question is after getting ILR how many days we need to apply for FLR M. UK NARIC will delay my wife's application. Also, my wife's qualification is already on PBS calculator. I will be applying SET M after I get FLR M since she came to UK in 2010. Do we still need UK NARIC certificate to exempt from english language requirement??
Please advise
Thanks
Kunal
