how long does it take for applying irish passport?

Post by goodnews2014 » Fri Feb 07, 2014 11:11 pm

Hi. Anybody know how long it will take for applying for Irish passport? I have waited more than 10 working days but still haven't received my Irish passport yet? Checked on the dfa.ie website but showing same status since I submitted my application? Wonder can I go to the passport office in Dublin to check? Dublin Passport office phone can't get through since fews week ago?

Hi did any of you guys get the passport....

I submitted my wife's application on 23rd March and the tracking website still shows application received on 24th and thats all.... they had given issue date 6th feb

looks like the passport office is now delaying the issue of passport of newly minted non-eu irish citizens....all they can do is delay not deny, soon will be a day when coloured irish will outnumber white irish in their very own ireland... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

IT takes about 2 weeks.... people should be aware it depends on the number of applications in the system and it is not exact. I could be

compared to other countries Ireland issues their passports very fast. The best advise is to apply well in advance

mind you mr new app, we are not comparing ireland with other countries. we are going by what they said. 10 working days with passport express. if they had said 30 days to get passport processed everyone will know it takes 30 days.

Application No bla bla bla . This application could not be processed. A letter outlining the reasons for this decision has been posted to you. If you have not received this within two days, please contact An Post at http://track.anpost.ie/track.html or contact their Customer Care service at 1850 575859 and quote the following envelope reference no bla bla bla .

@CalvinKlien

It says, they have been unable to verify the translation company used to translate my birth cert. and they need me to provide an english translation from a certified translation service in ireland.

Does anyone know how to go about this? any good translation company i can use? preferably near to Galway.

just to add. My birth cert translation was done in my home country, and i have used it in many places before, including the naturalization documentation, and it had no problems, im not sure why all of a sudden they cannot verify it!

The Irish Passport service has to be the worst service I have ever come across. I applied for passports for my children at the beginning of April, at the Canberra office in Australia I am Irish by birth my children Australian I received a letter from them asking for my long birth certificate as I had sent the short form what difference this makes I don't know. I have contacted them numerous times, the reply I get is they are being processed. It is now August still no passports If I knew it was going to be like this I would not have wasted my money. Will not be renewing my Irish passport when it is due not worth the trouble for what you get from it.
