ILR Success - 13 Feb 2014

Post by RITZUK » Thu Feb 13, 2014 1:53 pm

Dear All,

First a Big Thank You to all experts and moderators who are involved in maintaining this site and take so much effort and time off to answer the queries raised by people like us.
Just like so may others I found this forum extremely useful and its members very helpful and responsive. I had a lot of my queries answered by just surfing through the FAQs and other threads.

I had my appointment today at Croydon PEO and my application was approved.
I had entered UK in Feb 2009 on T2ICT and moved to T2G in Jan 2012. I applied for ILR today for myself, my spouse and a child.

As an applicant the experience was extremely smooth at the PEO. Had an appointment of 08:55 AM and reached the place at 8:30 AM. We were taken to 4th floor (or perhaps 3rd, one of the security staffs would escort every applicant and so don't remember which one was it) after the airport like security checks and were straightaway directed to register our case/application at the registration desks. We were given a token number and were then immediately called in for submitting the application form which took about 20 minutes. Right after that we were called for biometrics and that part of the process took another 15 minutes. Thereafter we were told wait in the coffee area until the case worker would have decided on our application. After just about 90 minutes or so we were called and were told that our application was successful. They returned all the originals and passports but kept the biometric card of my child.

List of documents that I had provided along with my application are:
Passport and Immigration Documents (Section 11A of SET O)
• Passports/Old Passport/Biometric Card
• Birth Certificate – 1 (child born in UK)
• Cohabitation Documents
  • o Marriage Certificate – 1
    o Council Bills – All 5 years
    o Tenancy Agreements – All 5 years
    o Bank Statement – 1 (2010, 2012, 2013)
    o Utility Bills – 2 (2013 - 2014)
    o HMRC Letters – 2 (2011)
Finances (Section 11A of SET O)
• 12 months bank statement
• 12 months salary slips
• 5 years P60

Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK (Section 11A of SET O)
• Life in UK test pass notification letters – Main Applicant and Dependent
• Evidence from online point based calculator for degree obtained overseas
• Original degree certificates – Main Applicant and Dependent

Tier 2 documents (Section 11P of SET O)
• Employee reference letter from the current employer confirming
  • o Still required for the employment
    o Nearest applicable SOC code
    o Current rate of pay
o Confirmation that this is above/at the rate of pay as described in codes of practice
o All absences were paid for in the current employment
Hope somebody will find this info useful and all the best.

Many thanks
S

Congrats !!! :) Just one query : Was there any need to provide cohabitation documents for last 5 years ? I guess for your case, last 2 years was expected. (@Amber: am I right on this point ?)

One more to confirm (just in case if there is any change in rule or I am not aware about that) .
 You could have provided last 3 months salary slip and Bank statement.

You are right Macco - 2 years would be sufficient. I just added them all as an extra safety.

Yes. Again as you say 3 months is what they ask for tchnically. But many on this forum have advised to provide 12 months of details and so I just added them as an extra. You would have guessed by now that I had not gone through any immigration advisor/agent and so plainly followed the best practices that were advised here.
