********** SOMEONE PLEASE ADVISE ME, I NEED YOUR SUGGESTIONS******************
Dear senior members,
Thanks a lot to you all for your valuable advises. I've applied for ILR through SET LR in October 2013 & currently I'm on tier4 (Student).I haven't got any decision yet. while I'm expecting for any decision I want to get ready for my wife's application & she's here in UK since 2009 as a Dependant. She recently done MBA from a UK university & got the certificate this month.

1.My question is whether she still need to go for B1 english test or Do I need to send her MBA certificate to NARIC for UKBA recognition? What's the procedure to through NARIC VERIFICATION ? How much it's cost & how long it will take to get her certificate back from NARIC?

Mnarci is to compare degrees from outside uk so I don't think she need naric certificate .you can confirm by calling home office .[/ color]

2.Does she still need to pass Life in the UK Test?

Life in uk is compulsory for set(m) as she is here before 2012 so she can apply for set(m) after flr(m) .its better to get that as we'll so you will straight Away apply for ILR

3.Do I need to show a maintenance fund of £18,600/ , Keep in mind Currently I'm on tier4 & only allowed to work 20hrs Per Week that's why I won't be able to show £18600/ income? Can we show income of £18,600/ together (me & my wife)? If I don't have to show £18,600 then Do I have to show enough funds in our bank account? How much it is?
no.but to be honest on my peo the case worker insist that I have to show 18600 even though I am here since 2006 on dependent visa .then I show her ho mail which says I fall under old rule .then they gave me ILR .after seeing mail they just says now we don't need any funds.so u don't need to show any funds in bank .its up to you if u want to show income or not yes u can combine income as couple ,.hope this helps
I'm so sorry for these silly questions. to me it's very complicated & I badly need your suggestions.

Many thanks in advance

Alhamdulillah my application for ILR has been approved. I have received both the passports and BRP yesterday. My case was quite straight forward 7yrs student + 2yrs PSW + 1yr Tier1 general (as a PhD) student. No convictions no overstays no solicitors used.

documents sent: 2 passports, 2 photographs, 1 Life in the UK certificate and 1 letter from university on their letterhead stating that I have successfully completed my first year of PhD and progressed through 2nd year. This wasn't necessary, however I knew that I will be differing my course and university is gonna withdraw their sponsorship by end of October. So I thought a letter from university stating my progress at least would provide enough proof that I did actually studied and complied with the visa rule of that last year of my 10 years.

Anyone in a dilemma thinking that after applying what if the university withdraw their sponsorship and cancel your current visa....do not worry my friends. As long as you completed your 10years period you are safe. If there is no complicated issue, do not waste your money on solicitors. I wouldn't advise anyone to send loads of supporting documents like bank statements, wage slips etc. The more documents you send the more you expose yourselves to issues. Keep it simple and send what you think is absolute necessity.

Thank you everyone and for those waiting Best of Luck.

The number of application on Skydrive are grossly under-reported. Here is the total number of applications from till September. I also expect that October will be higher due to the English language requirements which came in end of October.

Jan Feb March April May June July Aug Sept Total
Complete 730 645 660 505 385 430 555 735 160 4,800
Pending 10 5 10 15 15 25 45 195 1,035 1,355
Total 740 645 670 525 395 455 605 930 1,190 6,155

InfoR wrote:Most likely by end of March. My assumption is based on the number of applicants for Oct Nov Dec 2013, which is far less than July August September 2013. At least that's what the SkyDrive data shows anyway. If SkyDrive data truly represents the overall number of ILR applicants then I expect December 2013 applications to be decided by end of March.

Under reported on skydrive i.e. only a few people opt to log their application on this site, less than 5%!

You are correct, SkyDrive is a very very tiny sample of the overall ILR applications. It is simply an indicative measure to provide trend analysis for users of this forum. We only have data for around 60 applicants in September whereas the actual September applicants is 1190 so roughly 5% only.

Going by our sky drive trend, most applications are taking 4 - 5 months so I would expect Oct applications to be approved in March, November in April and December inMay. There has been a definite delay after Christmas period, partly caused by the increase in Applications in October along with an implementation of a new system in the UKBA as well.

Tomorrow will be 5 months for me, I think my original target of March 19th was probably right lol.. I may go the full 6 months, my case wasn't allocated to a caseworker when I checked on Friday.. so its going to take time.

Congrats to all those who received their ILR, esmsi and the rest of the September crew.. our time will come soon I hope :)

Hi I just corrected time line for my bio, made a typo error it was in November-

Application sent- 20/09/2013
Bio letter- 22/11/2013
Bio Done- 22/11/2013
Approval letter issued- 17/02/2014
Approval letter received- 18/02/2014
Passport and Documents Received- 18/02/2014
BRP- Waiting

My case was straight forward. 8 years Students and 2 Years PSW. I had enclosed the following documents, but to be honest with you guys, do not send so many. I was not sure at the time of my application I submitted all these. Just submit you Passport(s), BRP card, LIUK and if applicable include Employer's letter too.

- KOLL,
-Passports X 2,
-BRP card,
-All the previous BRP documents,
-Bank statement and wage slip for 4 months,
-Original certificates of my PhD qualification and other courses I undertook
-Council tax and utility bills,
-Proof of addresses for the last 10 years of my stay in the UK,
-Tenancy agreement forms
-P60s for 9 years,
-Doctor letters,
-Employer letters X 2
-Cover letter
-and all the other documents that I thought are relevant to the case of my application
:D
