TB Screening Test for Tier 2 General

Post by jigiboy » Mon Feb 24, 2014 2:34 pm

I will be applying for Tier 2 General in March 2014.
How long before applying for the visa should I take the TB screening test?
Can I take it anytime now?
Will the certificate be considered as valid if I take the test in 1st week of March?

Hi,
You can take up the test now. The TB test certificate that will be issued to you will be valid for 6 months from the day you undergo the test.

Thanks,
Daya

Hi,
We are living in UK for last 9 months. In May 2014 we will be applying for a new Tier 2 Gen Visa from India. Before applying, do we need to have a TB Screening test done?
Thanks,
Deb

Dear All

I am an Indian Passport Holder living and working in Kuwait

I am going to apply for Tier 2 General Visa in Kuwait soon just waiting for COS from UK employer

I have gone through UKBA website regarding documents needed to be submitted

I understand from the UKBA website that as I am an Indian Citizen I need to produce Tuberculosis Test Results for obtaining Tier 2 General Visa if i need to produce which hospital in Kuwait is approved by UKBA approved test clinics? or do I need to travel to India and take test in UKBA approved test clinics in India??

And also please clarify all necessary documents needed to be submitted in order to obtain Tier 2 General Visa from British Embassy in Kuwait??

I would be more thankful to you if anyone could reply as early as possible

Thanking you all in advance

Since you are a resident of Kuwait and applying from there, even though an Indian national, IMHO you don't need TB screening. Check with the British Embassy.

Hi Manci,
My wife is currently in UK as my dependent. In April she is going to India to switch to TIER 2 General Visa. Last year she had done TB test before coming to UK. Does she need to undergo the TB test again for TIER 2 General? Or, Will she be exempted from the test as she was living in UK for last 1 year.

Can you please help us to resolve this confusion?

Thanks,
D

@bdebarshi2006
as she is going to apply from India she will have to present a valid TB screening certificate. Certificates are usually only valid for 6 months .

@natalisain
if you are switching from within the UK you don't need a TB certificate

TB Screening Test for Tier 2 General - applying from the USA

Post by Sivakami » Wed Jun 18, 2014 3:21 pm

Hello,

I hold an Indian passport presently. I am making an application for a Tier 2 General visa (UK) from the USA, where I have been residing over the past eleven months(have not visited India in this period) . I have a question about the need for the TB test in my case, as there is no certified clinic in the USA, it being outside the list of countries where the test is mandatory.

Many Thanks.

IMO, you don't need a TB test if you are applying from US. I would suggest you check with the UK Embassy directly.

Hi Manci and natalisain
I am currently on dependent visa and will be switching to Tier 2 general visa.
Do I need to get TB test done in India only or can I get it done when I am in London before leaving India to tier 2 general application.

I have the same question as above.

Are there certified clinics in London where I can do the TB screen before making application in my country?

Hi,

I am currently on Tier ICT dependant and moving to Tier2 General visa,in a couple of weeks.
I have my Cos assigned, and planning to go to India by November 30th.

I am planning to go for the TB test by Dec 1st and probably might get the report by next day.

Do I need to wait for the TB report before I submit the application online or can I submit the application online now,
and book an appointment around say Dec 5th,so that I would have my TB reports by the time I go for the appointment.

My concern is the possible delay in getting an appointment date,if I wait till Dec 2nd to have reports in hand!!

ANy help is much appreciated.

TIA
Manogna

You dont need TB report for booking an appointment. If you are confident of getting the TB report on time, you can do it.

Hi,

I am applying for my second Tier 2 visa (in fact I am in the UK since December 2012).
Am I correct that I do not need a TB screening test?
I have the same question regarding my dependents who arrived to the UK in May 2013.

With best regards,
Oleg

P.S. My wife's passport is Ukranian, my son and me have Russian passports.

Not required for you and your family (since you all are in UK).

Hi! I am going to apply for Tier 2 visa and have already passed TB test. I would like to ask is it a problem if the working address that is stated in the TB certificate differs form the address I will put when applying for a visa?
