How long does it normally take for the drop in balance to show up as a payment?

Hi Rikken,

It depends on the bank, but generally 2-3 days. By the third day you should have it fully displayed on your account.

Goodluck.

I had similar experience, I noticed drop in my available balance on Monday and the transaction appeared in my recent transaction schedule on Tuesday shortly after 1600.

The balance dropped yesterday morning but shortly after that the debit card I used for the payment got stuck in a cash machine so I had to request it be replaced. So now I have no idea if it's actually going to clear. I called barclays but they are worse than useless.

So if you balance has dropped and card been charged, you should be fine, IMO Rikken.

Got a text message this morning from the bank about a transaction of 1550 billed on my Credit card. I assume the bank authorised the transaction and just waiting for it to reflect on my statement. If the fee deduction goes smoothly, it will make the waiting period of fee deduction just under 4 weeks. Sounds good :)

Thanks to TTOE for pointing out, my application arrived HO on 31/12/2013

@ Rikken - hope for the best here wrt actual clearing of the payment. I suggest you go into a branch to find out why your plastic got swallowed up and get a confirmation of all your pending transactions.

All the best mate!

I also noticed some of the January applications already got the fees deducted. This makes the fee deduction waiting period as short as 3 weeks!! (well, still quite long compare to the applications prior to October 2013...)

December stats:

Week of 2 December: 17 (15 with fees taken)
Week of 9 December: 15 (14 with fees taken)
Week of 16 December: 13 (11 with fees taken)
Week of 23 December: 6 (4 with fees taken)
Week of 30 December (not January): 2 (2 with fees taken)

Looks like just about everyone who applied in December has had the fees taken, I assume the ones not yet flagged as acknowledged just haven't got around to updating their post yet.

Do you have any idea what percentages of the October and November applications were missing by then?

In support of malafat's point, Green apple, I suggest we should be comparing apple to apple and orange to orange..........there wasn't any rule change in October 2012 and I didn't hear about any massive backlog as well.

Great optimism TTOE, I like you man! :)

Any particular reason for this optimism, with almost all November approvals still to come through?
