Paki got refusal and he got the letter after 3 weeks time.......

so i hope we will get our letters (if decesion made) after 3 weeks

Hi all
well the latest is i called HO for my app

they said decesion is made and The packet hasn't been dispatched yet, they will send to my address tomorrow ......
and they are not telling me over the phone....

i hope its in my favor

Hello Eastboy!
I don't know why paki got letter after 3 weeks time. If we send something through normal Royal mail delivery to pakistan, it always took exact 7/8 days to reach over there. I think HO would send letters through normal Royal mail. So it should be with u next week.(Inshaullah). Praying 4 all of us.

It nice that they will send your package tomorrow. btw can you please let me know the phone no. on which you call. also to whom did you talk? and what did you exactly ask?

I am also planning to call , so atleast i can know that my decision has been made or not?

i talked with someone he didnt tell me his name

i gave him my ref # and asked him that site show HO is working on 20th april these days so i wanna ask about my application status....

he told me that decesion has been made...
i said can you please tell ?
he goes no its against the rules to say anything over the phone...

then i asked that where they gonna send my letter and documents as if possible ill give address of my friend in Uk .
he said no as they have given it in dispatch section and they will send it 2morrow by first class mail at the address given in the application....

i thanked him and said bye.....

thats all dear......
hope for the best
and now im really worried ....

Date money taken from credit card: 23 april

Points claimed: Msc - 25, 2years Work experience - 25, under 28 - 5, singnificant achievement - 15
Approval date: 24th september
I got it today: 29th september

I am an incountry applicant. Hope that helps.

Guys,

I was just going through data I have been collecting for all of us and going by the approximate reference nos. we know of each other and the date of decision letter, HO is really not doing a bad job. They have stepped up the processing time. For those of you interested in more details, you can go through the following :

Application date____Reference No.____Decision Letter

April 20 2004______01697X_________September 21 2004 (HO contacted for more details)

Based on the above figures, one can safely assume that HO was processing :

35-40 applilcation per working day from August 27 - September 3
40-45 applications per working day from September 6 - September 13
50-55 applications per working day from September 14 - September 20

So for all of us who were frustrated becoz the dates did not change on the HO website, I guess it is not as bad as it looks

VP, you are right. He got his approval letter fast becoz he is an incountry applicant. Though I am sure in India it should not take more than 10-12 days. Could you get in touch with HO?? May be you want to find out when did they dispatch your packet. That way you can work back wards and estimate by when to expect the letter and docs in your hand in India.

i have already called HO yesterday. They told me that my case has been assigned to caseworker and she has not yet take the decision. so he ask me to call after one week.

now i am surprised that application of 22nd april (ref. 171**) got the approval and still my application is with case worker.

VP,

That should not worry you. That only means they are going through your application in more details. You got to bear in mind that Caseworkers are much more familiary with UK standards and practices and hence taking a decision on an in-country applicant is relatively easier as compared to us who are out-country applicants.

Just have faith and hang in there. Give a call after a week as adviced by them. I am sure by then they would have processed your application and in the same call you can find out the date of dispatch.

why dont eastboy and vp consider send courier to pick the documents up from HO, that might speed up the time taken by Royal Mail.

Courier pick-up is a difficult path. I have spent 5 days on fedex & dhl trying to co-ordinate between them & HO before giving up and asking HO to dispatch my letter thru standard post.

Neither DHL nor Fedex are prepared to pick-up without HO signing airway bill inspite of advance payment by me in India. In fact DHL UK sent an email saying that they are not prepared to go for pick up of the document to the address unless HO assures them on the phone that they shall sign the airway bill.

Infact as of now, after May 4, the next applicant on my list is May 10. Yours would be somewhere in between those dates. So this info will be useful to those after May 4.

I called HO yesturday and they told me that my documents with Decesion letter is on its way back to my address in Pakistan.....

so i hope it will take 2 weeks time to reach me here in Lahore....

Hi noddy214 and the other members,

I have called HO today and asked the status of my application (22th april, ref no: 01711X)

The lady told me that a case worker is currently working on my application and I will be hearing from them soon.

I guess I will be receiving the decision letter and my documents back in 10 days. I know that it generally takes 1 week to receive a postage from UK to Turkey.

i tried to check workingintheuk site and thats what i got
