They gave me the same reply. To be fair, they have up to 3 months to assign the RCoS before it gets taken back to be "recycled" in future cycles.

Anyway, our start date is late August so we have plenty of time. Do keep each other updated!

In this forum, anyone from India, is it possible to apply for tier 2 general - priority visa ( fast track ) applicable? Any one know is it available in Chennai or Bangalore? How long does it take? thanks.

I graduated from a UK university so I believe the NARIC certificate is unnecessary?

Hi karthiyegga

I know that Delhi has a one day priority facility costing about GBP 600 extra. Will check for other locations

priority visa cost in New Delhi VAC is around £150 but you will be able to use this service if your employer is member of some specific UK India Business program (this is mentioned on VFS' website)
£600 is the fees for 1 day super-priority visa (don't this tier 2 general is an eligible category for this)
anyway, 97% applications are decided within 3 working days.

for those who don't like waiting for process steps to complete slowly, here is a possible timeline (i was able to follow this entirely)

RMLT - 28 days
Application of CoS - before 5th of every month
CoS meeting - 11th of every month (unless holiday)
CoS announcement in SMS (sponsorship management system) - 11th of every month. Therefore in most cases, the company/immigration teams get to know the outcome on 11th itself
CoS issue - this is essentially a 5 mins process where the SMS manager fills in your basic passport details and clicks "ok"
Visa processing - you can check on UKVI's website but most cases are decided in 5 working days.

I was able to get visa done on 29th of the month when CoS was issued on 11th and there were 10 holidays between 11-29, so roughly 9 working days. Mine was in March

Hi All,

I have a quick question.

Although I have the RCoS in April, my employer is unable to assign it to me yet as my estimated started date is the last week of August. We are still more than 3 months away from the start date. Is this understanding correct?

It can be assigned within 3 months after allocation, and then there will be another 3 months for it to be used in a visa application.
For example, an RCoS allocated on 11 December 2015 will be valid until 12 March 2016, and if it is assigned on 12 March, it will be valid from 12 March to 13 June, meaning it can be used to apply for a visa with the start date as late as 12 September 2016 in an extreme case.

a.mitra , pilot

Will you guys be applying next month since your joining date is later?

My employer has still not confirmed that rCoS has been granted but asked me if NARIC certificates have been issued. I'm still waiting on that :(

Hey ruby,

I'm not sure about that. I've just been contacted my the immigration team asking for some docs. All I can say is that since my, and pilot's as well, joining date will be sometime in September, we can't apply until June i.e. 3 months before the joining date

a.mitra.6668, can't read your Private Message bro.

I've spoken to legal and they are not keen to assign the RCoS until 3 months before the actual start date.
