Yup, same here.

Stopped at 11:20 or so, but as with my original post it’s been glitched since the start with the incorrect prediction date. (Confirmed by chat and embassy I applied through).

It should ideally update @ 7:20, 9:20, 11:20, 13:20, 15:30, 17:20 & 19:20 every day including weekends but some days it doesn't update every two hours. For example today it hasn't updated since 11:20 🙄

Good morning all,

Would anybody have a ballpark idea as to when the Passport office return your original documents. Is it during the process or after you have received your passport. If so, approximately how long of a wait have people encountered?
Any insights would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

New development on Passport application tracker. It has first updated at 7:20 instead of 9:20.

Has anyone got the below tracking error even on the second day of application submission?

"The application number entered does not exist in our database. Please enter your passport application number again."

Very common, not even an issue. Once they review you documents and start verifying them, only then tracker will update to Processing-Verifying documents. It might be sometime today or tomorrow or so.

I know that the status changes to verifying documents, but in my case the application number is not even showing in the tracking website

Hi, I just received my foreign birth registration confirmation and am now applying for the passport. I haven't really looked into the process before now, but I seem to remember people saying a verified copy of your birth country passport may be submitted instead of the original passport, is this correct? The application form doesn't make it very clear so just seeking some reassurance that is acceptable.

This would work if you have a PPS card. Considering you go through the FBR route and assumping that you haven't lived in Ireland (thus no PPS card), you'd have to send in the original passport.

Thanks for the reply! Could I just ask where that information is from?
On my application form it says the following:

1) Citizenship and identity documents: passport or national ID card. If resident outside of the state, certified copies of ID are accepted.
But then on the citizenship category documents it says:
2) FBR certificate AND original passport from country of birth (if you have one).

It seems from the first category, it will be fine with a certified copy of my passport, but as it doesn't have the same info about certified copies in the second category, I'm just wondering whether the same applies.

Just an update if anyone goes through my situation, it seems like something happened in their tracking system, which has not registered my application number. I am still getting "application does not exist in the database", but their web chat confirmed that they have my application and my supporting documents and my application is getting processed as normally. Very weird but at least bit assuring.

You could try to chat with them on the web page and be sure. My guess is that a certified copy should be enough. But probably better to ask them.

I can confirm that the tracking system is broken right now. I just had a chat with them and told me that it should be back soon.

When I did it, just kept refreshing the web page every 20 sec or so. Is easier if you do it using a laptop. After probably 6 min it went green. Then after I ingress my info, it said it was full 😡

Then I tried again for about 3 min and had ready to paste my tracking number and could made it 😁.

You’ll have to send in your original document if applying via FBR w/o a PPS card. The first category is sufficient for those born on the island of Ireland, where they have access the birth records.

For FBR and naturalisation routes, both need to send in original passport, or a certified copy + a regular copy of the PPS card. You can check 2021 + 2022 posts about this. Basically, they want to make sure that someone from a their agency or the DSP agency has physically seen your original passport at some point (To get a PPS card, you need to go to their office in person with your passport)

I have one question, when you get your citizenship certificate, you IRP card is automatically cancel? Can you travel abroad and come back using your home country passport and IRP card? Or you need to get your irish passport in order to be able to return.
Has anybody travel after getting the citizenship with the home country passport and IRP card?

You can travel on IRP and birth country passport even after getting Citizenship certificate before you get your Irish passport, telling from experience. Citizenship certificate doesn't cancels IRP.

Do you get an email notification when the status change or do you have to keep checking?
