Hi all,

Finally a releif this morning after a sleepless night !

application sent : 15 th Jan
application received : 16 th Jan
reference letter dated :19th Jan (received 21 st Jan)
Category : WP -> Tier 1
points claimed : 115
approved : 12 the Feb
received : 13 Feb

How i did it :
Dont give UKBA any chances !
All originals! One interim bank statement was missing - ordered a copy on phone. And since it wasnt like the usual monthly statements - got it verified and stamped by local branch.
Spent a little extra on dog clips and sticky notes. So everything was orderly.
Had a cover letter explaining every point claimed.
However beginning of this week i was panicking because i have to travel on 25 th Feb to present funded work in a conference(and had explained to them in the cover letter - but no evidence was given at that time).
Followed up by requesting UT and sending a supporting evidence from employer on 9 th by special delivery. Also called sheffield office on 10th (local 0114 no.). They gave me a no to fax supporting evidence. Faxed on 10th. Called on 12th. Was informed evidence added on 11 th and caseworker informed. Decision was reached but they wouldnt disclose the decision. They said it was with the last team (dispatch). Checked Royal mail track in the evening - my delivery on the way! it was an almost sleepless night.

Physku..

Congratulations buddy.. you did a lot of followup hardwork..

* point to be noted for Jan applicants who did not hear any news till now is that physku application has a UT attached and a reason, to it was given a priority - so dont panic.. take a deep breadth, keep fingers cross and do the usual waiting..

Congrats again physku..

Thanks you for your comfort. The waiting time of HO website has been updated:

During the week commencing 16 February 2009, we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 14 January 2009.

I wish we can get the visa at the beginning of the next week.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. While on phone with HO, I tried to make sure that I get bit more specific response than "under consideration". I explained to the customer care person that "under consideration" is not really a specific status of the application and asked her for bit more information. She said to me that someone is looking at your application now (it implies that its with caseworker). I asked her to tell me the status of the applications before "under consideration" and she replied its "waiting". Hence, I believe that once application is with HO, its status is "waiting" or "waiting for consideration" and finally it gets assigned to a caseworker and status changes to "under consideration".

What do you guys think?

Have a good weekend tvn_ramesh and JamesLu!

This means that a caseworker has to be assigned to your case yet.

If you don't mind, can you please add your timelines as a signature (the way I have done)?

Good Luck.

What's your mean has to be assigned. Does it mean mine hasn't been assigned? It's strange. The website says this week till to 14th Jan. Why my case has not assigned?

It's not strange, mate! Your case will be assigned to a caseworker within a day or two. I think my case was assigned on last friday (though not sure). I'm not sure how often IEB's computers are updated with latest status of applications.

Keep cool, we both should hear something by end of this week.

Hi All,

I have applied for Tier 1 on 12 Feb 2009.

I have a small concern.
I had applied for H1B(USA) in the month of Aug 2005. But I had got "blue slip "asking me to get the details of the client I would be working with in the US of A. But, I could not find the client's name from my employer then and I dint go back to the American Counsulate. However, I have not mentioned this in my VF9 Application form as I dont have any details regarding that now.... Does this effect my application.I am worried. can anyone help me.

Regards
DA.

I am confused now - because HO seem to be confused. Just called HO half an hour later (than getting response "waiting for further consideration") and now got the response that it's "under consideration". I told the lady that half an hour ago I was told my application is "waiting for further consideration". She took some time and confirmed: it's "under considearation" and it means its waiting to be processed.
...... don't know what to say as this point (can only laugh at them now)

It's very strange, why your status changes so quickly. Don't worry, maybe the tel operator just tired to answer too many calls.

BTW, how do you know "waiting for consideration" indicates that my case will assigned today or tomorrow?
