*********** SOMEONE PLEASE ADVISE ME, I NEED YOUR SUGGESTIONS******************
Dear senior members,
Thanks a lot to you all for your valuable advises. I've applied for ILR through SET LR in October 2013 & currently I'm on tier4 (Student).I haven't got any decision yet. while I'm expecting for any decision I want to get ready for my wife's application & she's here in UK since 2009 as a Dependant. She recently done MBA from a UK university & got the certificate this month.

1.My question is whether she still need to go for B1 english test or Do I need to send her MBA certificate to NARIC for UKBA recognition? What's the procedure to through NARIC VERIFICATION ? How much it's cost & how long it will take to get her certificate back from NARIC?

2.Does she still need to pass Life in the UK Test?

3.Do I need to show a maintenance fund of £18,600/ , Keep in mind Currently I'm on tier4 & only allowed to work 20hrs Per Week that's why I won't be able to show £18600/ income? Can we show income of £18,600/ together (me & my wife)? If I don't have to show £18,600 then Do I have to show enough funds in our bank account? How much it is?

I'm so sorry for these silly questions. to me it's very complicated & I badly need your suggestions.

Many thanks in advance

Hi ,

1) No you cannot apply, But You can vary application, its bit complex/Risky.

Ref Below Link

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... rmset(LR)/

Your 10-year qualifying period starts from either:
the date when you arrived in the UK with a visa; or
the date you were given permission to stay in the UK.

Please do not send us your application more than 28 days before the end of your 10-year qualifying period. If you do, we may refuse your application and we will not refund the fee. However, you must apply before your current permission to remain in the UK ends.

2) No you cannot apply your wife as your dependent in this route and have to use separate application (FLR (M)).

Hope this Helps.
Irfan.

LawBar wrote:Dear All,

I have been a silent reader of this wonderful forum. My wife (who I met in the UK) and myself both applied for ILR since both complied with the 10 years long term visa route (each one of us made a separate SET (LR) application and paid application fee X 2). After we got married 5.5 years ago she has been under a dependent visa.

My 10 years route is as follow: Student + Tier 1 (Post study work permit) + Tier 2 points based system.

Our timeline was as follow:

Documents sent on the 03/10/13
Acknowledgement letter received on the 10/10/13 (dated 07/10/13)
Biometric invitation letter received on the 24/10/13
Biometric done on the 28/10/13
Both BRP cards received on the 14/02/14 (dated 12/02/14)
Passports and supporting documents sent were received on the same date 14/02/14!!!

I think this was a fast response considering that we were two applicants. So, our timeline was ~4.5 month!!! I was expecting it in the first week of March. It seems to me that the HomeOffice is speeding up the process. So, please don't despair yours will come soon, if you applied on a similar date.

Now, my child was born on the 17/01/14 (I have the appointment to register him on the 24/02/14). Do you think my child can be a British Citizenship straight away even though both of us got settlement after he was born or we need to make a special application for him? and if so, could you please send me the link?

Many thanks for all your help during this critical period of my life and thank to all of you who are still waiting!

We convert our Visitor visa as Student Dependant Visa on November 2004 till Now, as my husband is here since October 2003 as on student visa till June 2014.(My Husband is waiting for his ILR. He applies since last October 2013).

My queries are I got 35-40 days Gap for making the 10Years application. Our visa is run out on 06/June/2014. (Me and my First Daughters came on 16 July 2004).
My Husband is waiting for his ILR. He applies since last October 2013.

1. What is the best way to apply?
2. Which application we need to make?
3. Which Document need to provide?
Please answer my queries. I will appreciate your help.

Mnarci is to compare degrees from outside uk so I don't think she need naric certificate .you can confirm by calling home office .[/ color]

2.Does she still need to pass Life in the UK Test?

Life in uk is compulsory for set(m) as she is here before 2012 so she can apply for set(m) after flr(m) .its better to get that as we'll so you will straight Away apply for ILR

3.Do I need to show a maintenance fund of £18,600/ , Keep in mind Currently I'm on tier4 & only allowed to work 20hrs Per Week that's why I won't be able to show £18600/ income? no.but to be honest on my peo the case worker insist that I have to show 18600 even though I am here since 2006 on dependent visa .then I show her ho mail which says I fall under old rule .then they gave me ILR .after seeing mail they just says now we don't need any funds.so u don't need to show any funds in bank .its up to you if u want to show income or not yes u can combine income as couple ,.hope this helps

All valuable members of this forum
Surprisingly i received my BRP on sun as i didn't know that it could be delivered even on sun. Now as i am preparing my spouse setm, what i have understood is that under old rules i don't have to show any funds in my bank account but just show transactions i-e money coming in and out for 3 months. Please correct me if i m wrong. Any advice or suggestion would be really appreciated.

My other question is that how long does it take to register a child born here and then get british passport.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Hardikjshah83,
It is probably good to give a call to HO. I had the same issue with Bio Letter, I received mine after two months and when called HO, I was told they sent the first Bio letter after two weeks of the application submitted which I didn't receive it got lost on it way and the second letter they sent which was on the way at the time of my inquiry.
