Calling HO

Post by dmytro » Wed Nov 28, 2007 3:23 pm

Guys, do you think calling once a week to check on progress of the application will have a negative impact? Will they get annoyed that you cal once a week?

Seriously, you guys need to stop calling them all the time. There is no need to call them if you only sent your application a few weeks ago. If your payment has been debited, then it will be processed. There is no point calling them all the time to find out what is going on.

Of course you can keep calling them if you wish, but there us no real need to.

I BEG to DIFFER!!!!!!!!!!!
they do lie to you to get away with certain mistakes, lack of attention etc... on their part.
..you call them on different occasions ..and the answers you're given are different...
...they forgot to send my letter...
..i think...to make sure things are done swiftly or...that they are actually done....
you do need to call them every now and then...in some cases...

it seemed that the superintendent was finding it rather difficult to keep a straight face...while reading the lines of welcome!!
my guest cracked up with a laughter...half way through...
and it was all very jovial...
i guess if you want some formal ceremony with solemnity or whatever, go for the group option.

i applied for the passport yesterday...at the post office.
the check-and-send lady said, the mistakes on the form may result in either delay or return of docs.
has any one had their form returned to them because it was 'messy'?

Finally! After 13 months of waiting, 2 letters of my MP, letter to Senior Manager of the MMS team got an approval letter! Good luck toall of you who is waiting!
IMHO: if you are waiting more than 6 months do not hesitate to call BIA, and ask for Team supervisor. They have a power to contact your case officer directly and generally give more information. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!

My time line update

Postal or NCS: POSTAL
Date of submission or posting : 15 May 07
CRITERIA - 4 years + ILR 1 year
Date of debit of cheque: 25 May 2007 (around that date, only after ack letter)
Date of receipt of acknowledgement Letter: 21 May 07
Date of receipt of approval : 4 August 2007 (HO letter dated 01/08/2007)
Date of invitation letter received: During first week of September
Date of Ceremony: 25 September
Date of passport application: 25 September (Check and Send Service)
Date of passport received: 24 December

For me the longest part of the whole process was passport application, taking 3 months: for naturalization, just over 2 months : for ILR , only 6 weeks.

Passport office requested me the documents exactly telling where I lived in last 3 years.

...i don't think it's all that cut and dry...
but i thinkthe logic goes..."if IBA just checked all their docs, id's etc...then why should TPS have any reason or evidence to mistrust the information?"

non?

I applied last Feb and got the approval letter in 3rd week of December while I was holidaying.

Thanks for the board members who answered all my queries during this long waiting period.

can you help?

Post by RajUK » Fri Jan 11, 2008 2:36 pm

Hi all,

Im in a bit of a situation, I would like some advice on what's need to be done.

Citizenship

NCS or Postal : Postal
Date of submission or posting : 30 Mar 07
CRITERIA : 5 yr stay + 3 yr ILR
Date of debit of debit/credit card : 02 April 07
Date of receipt of acknowledgement : 13 May 07
Date of receipt of approval : ...Still waiting...
Date of Ceremony : N/A
Date of appln. for passport : N/A
Method used : N/A

so far I have been waiting for about 10 months, I have red that people waited to 13 months to get approved.
What can I do? everytime i call they say its still waiting for checks.
the only thing i may add here is that i have gone back to India but for business for 4 months, should that delay my application?
lastly, should I be worried as the situation stands?

Many thanks in advance,
Raj

Hi Raj i think they are doing character checks thats called a LEVEL 3 and does take some time...also the 4 month trip may set you in the red for no of absences...

you should call them and ask for supervisor they have the power to contact your caseworker and supply you with a bit more info about ur case

Thank you so much joshualevy84 for your prompt response.
may I just ask if we consider fact that my application maybe refused, why dont they get me out of my misery and tell me that?
will I be allowed to reapply again if that's the case?

they just cant refuse the application without any apparent reason everyone is has accountability and that includes them as well !

Hi Raj,

I know what you are going through. I had to wait 10 months to get a decision but finally got it right. I don't know the reason why they took so long to complete my application.

From my point of view you don't need to make calls and try to get information which is waste of time. You will get the decision very soon. All the best.

Well, these 2.5 months have been quite nerve-wrecking for me, but finally I can take a deep breath and say 'Yes, I am finally home'. Thanks to all in this forum, you have been a great help during the past 2 years as I was applying for ILR and Naturalisation. Best of Luck to everyone else! I will try to keep you posted with Invitation Letter details and the actual passport application.
