No, it's not required. Most people apply for it soon, as they have travel plans. But it's certainly not a requirement that you must get one.
Phew, fantastic. Thank you. :)

My joint application timeline

Language criteria met : Life in the UK + UK degree + pbs printout.
Current nationality: Pakistani
Method of application: NCS
Date of application: 09/03/2015
Payment method: debit card
Date of receipt by UKBA: Don't know
Date of acknowledgment: Received on 23/03/2015
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 18/03/2015

Wonder if naturalisation app through 10 year route's ILR takes longer or same time as other applicants?
Also should joint applicants take longer?

I'm not in the position to get one for a while. We literally scraped the barrel to just get citizenship sorted and paid for, so getting my British passport currently isn't a high priority.

Not doing so won't void my naturalisation when I get it, will it?
Not at all, once you get your citizen ship certificate your are naturalised, you may not require your British passport for the rest of your life. I am sure every Brit not a British passport holder, it is required only if you want to travel on it. You can continue using your exciting passport for your travel.
But you must keep your certificate with you when coming back to UK since after your naturalisation your biometric card may seize to function as I read it in some thread.
Best of luck

Tulip 3rd of April was Bank Holiday. Neither postal staff nor HO staff work on bank holiday.

One can only hope there was a magic mistake in the timeline but just goes to show how trolls affect this site and causes other to have palpitations about their own applications with constant panicking about why their applications are not here yet.

What everyone must know is you can't compare circumstances nor try to secretly work out how UKVI do anything. Best thing to do is to just to concentrate with the rest of your life and when the decision comes, it will come.

I visited this site every minute when i was waiting..

I think its very normal, other than worries its enthusiasm and curiosity as well, people spend years in this country, doing hard work, spending money on visas etc

now time is coming when they gonna enjoy their freedom, let them do whichever way they want to pass this waiting time, checking others timeline, having discussion and I think this is the best forum for them :)

wish you all best luck
